Sorry but I really don't see why PD should be adding this when they can just "premiumnize" the Lotus Carlton.

Sorry but I really don't see why PD should be adding this when they can just "premiumnize" the Lotus Carlton.

The Lotus Carlton has way more power and a different body kit.

And I don't see why they shouldn't add this when they can "just" premiumize the Carlton. Since they're based on the same car it would be a pretty quick job to just change some details and have both cars.

Which is why it is better than the car in this thread and should remain as the only Omega of its model generation in the future GT games, IMO.

My point is that instead of PD putting their time adding cars that are similar to each other like this one with the Carlton, they could be adding something completely different like a Jaguar F-Type or a Buick Riviera, for example.

Fair enough, you have your own view on it and I respect it. But I don't think it'd be really a quick job, I mean, how much time would it even take to model the new body kit and interior of the car considering the amount of polygons PS4 games can have in their 3D models? I presume it couldn't be completed in less than a month or perhaps two considering that PD thing of only one person working on one model.

Also, maybe the biggest reason why PD should stick only with the Carlton is because it is easier to continue using, for instance, the Carlton in GT7 because it was already licensed once (I presume long time ago for GT4), so expenses are minimal.

In my opinion I'd rather have the Omega than the Carlton. Bodykits are silly and power is overrated.

Except that a completely different car can't share any assets with other cars. You don't get to pick between one Omega or one F-Type, it's more likely one Omega or a fender from an F-Type (assuming that they're making a premium Carlton anyway).

The interiors are the same, and PD does bodykits for most premium cars anyway, so I don't really see what would require so much work.

I don't think the license for an Opel Omega is that hard to obtain.

The Carlton's power is just ok to me and I like its body kit much more than the original Omega's, each to their own.

I didn't mean completely different in this way, I meant that instead of PD adding a new trim for an already existing car they should be adding a new car model to the game.

If that is true then we already have one Omega, the Carlton. Isn't it?

Sorry I actually didn't understand much of what you meant with this. Language is a barrier.

Hmm, I didn't know they were the same...

I'll just be cheap and say they should be making more body kits for the Carlton instead of adding the Omega then. :P

Yea me too. But the real matter here is if PD would be willing to get one when they could just not get it and keep expenses minimal, this is something none of us know (unless you are a worker from PD).

-> Is there a Vauxhall version of this? Sorry, I'm still illiterate on some Euro cars...

Just like Eran004 say's the Carlton has more power and different body kit, and besides of that this was the
predecessor of the Lotus Omega/Carlton without this car the Carlton wouldn't exist. The engine of the Lotus has it's base in this Omegas engine, so I think the Omega 3000 has it's place in the GT-series.

I want both cars, it's like the Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S or the Subaru BRZ the same car but different namnes and slightly different body details :)

Most likely. Carlton probably starts off as Vauxhall. Think same Era holden commadore Similar Too

Yep it was sold in the UK as the Vauxhall Carlton and there we have another reason to take the Omega 3000 into the game, the Carlton is right hand drive and the Omega is left hand drive :)
