Opel/Vauxhall/Holden/Chevy Tigra.

You mean one of these?

Or the newer one?

Nobody has the old one anymore because they were crap from what I've been told!

Yes.the first one. One of my favorite gt2 cars! Used to take it to the grand tourer race at red rock valley and eat all the big cars for lunch. Currently tuning one for gt5, it isn't near as good her as in gt2.

Crap how? quality?

Count yourself lucky.

What are house prices like around there?

Don't know, I live on family land, no need to care.
Besides, that's not really relevant to wanting more info on a car that is not regionally available for me to lay eyes on.

If you're refering to the Ice Racing Tigra, wow, i totaly forgot about that car and it was a beast indeed! Yet another awesome GT2 car i'd love to see make a return.

The Ice racer rocked, but I was talking about the street car which was also wonderful in gt2.

Opel - GM Germany
Vauxhall - GM England
Holden- GM Australia
Chevy- GM, short for Chevrolet
Tigra - GM Opel car model

If you have seen a Pontiac GTO, that is a Holden Monaro, re-badged for your market. It was also sold in Europe as a Vauxhall Monaro.

I see how you got there.
Actually the Tigra has used all of those brandings
Vauxhall in the uk
Holden in Au
Chevy in mexico....

I do know about the GTO which is a Holden
And Vectra which we call malibu...

Vauxhall now sell it as the VXR8. Unless I'm mixing up the Commodore and the Monaro...either way, it's awesome. :D

That would be a Commodore, but a newer one. They don't make Monaro's any more.

But the 2010 Camaro was designed by Holden for Chevrolet. A few people wondered if we would get a new Monaro out of it, but it doesn't look that way.

The Vauxhall VXR8 is the UK version of the Holden Special Vehicles Clubsport R8, which is essentially an in-house modified Holden Commodore SS. The Monaro/GTO was a restyled two-door coupe version of the VZ Commodore SS, whereas the CSR8/VXR8 is based on the VE Commodore chassis.

Also we got the late-model Tigra which looks, to me, like a slightly smaller Astra CC. Which means it's probably rubbish.

You don't start a thread like this... Oh well.

Well no, it was a mk1 Corsa made more attractive.

Oh I see your point.
The first Tigra was on Mk2 basis (Corsa B). Corsa A GSi was actually a pretty cool car, like a go kart. Lightweight, funny engine and handling was 'okay'.. Corsa B though, was just an economical small car and the Tigra was it's sports version. I don't like it but the handling could be really good, the car itself is verry low, but everything from 50/50.. Feels like 80/20. A friend of me had one and was a bitch to drive if the stance was for show.. It wants to oversteer too much, becaus the back feels so light.

Yeah we didn't get the Corsa either. Anyone know if it's comparable to an old swift/metro/firefly?

No, not at all.. Quality wise better, handling worse.. The EcoTec engines could handle alot of miles but they need oil after heavy use. Interior of the Tigra is typical Opel, good, and the same as a Corsa. I would go with an old Swift GTi though, handles better and I think it isn't worth it to import a Tigra..

And, don't flame on me please, it's a girls car here in the Netherlands. If boys drive 'm they are mostly ricers, big bumpers and all that..

Edit: If that old Swift GTi is for sale there, buy it.. You won't regret. Get yourself some coils, good stance and tyres. I love this car to death!

Thanks Carlos, these kinds of personal experiences with the car are what I was looking to read. I doubt I would ever import a car. I am a bit too cheap for that. But, them being sold in Mexico had me (albeit briefly) pondering doing just that.

Any of you own one? Apparently I live in the only place in the world that doesn't have them...

You are not missing anything - unless you are a young female who's idea of tuning is the fitment of a fluffy pink steering wheel cover.

No, but if you don't get Tigras it's relevant to me wanting to move there...

I really like these, especially in black. They're like Opel's CRX :) But the truth is that they're driven mostly by female drivers, though I've seen alot men who drive a Tigra.
