I'm asking for the collective opinions on the "fairness" of using the GT Formula car for some of the high end races (ex. Extreme Hall), and with your opinion could you give an anecdote / story basing your answer.

I've already done 97% of GT4 and now having fun with the second go thru, just looking for your thoughts... thanks Jim

About the only place where it's remotely fair is at La Sarthe, where its slightly shorter gearing allows some of the quicker Group C's and GT1's to catch up to it along Muslanne. This MIGHT be true of Fuji 80's as well, but I doubt it.

Are you talking about the Ford GT from the intro? I was quite surprised on the handling of the car. The normal Ford Gt's have terrible handling and don't slow down. This one stops and turns on a dime. I wouldn't consider it cheating to use it. It's in the game for a reason. (unlike the 'T'.)

I didn't drive any of the F1 cars in GT3 at all until the FGT, which was the very last race series I did in the entire game.

I plan to finish GT4 exactly the same way, if I even finish it at all.

I love the F1, I drive it more than any other car, it feels amazing. I think it is overkill in most of the races, but I'd say the Sauber Mercedes is in the same boat, you can win any race with either of them pretty easily.

I found it way too much overkill so I stopped using it, until i did the FGT Races (Which i still have the last 5 to do but have already won the championship) i find using cars that are closer to 100 A-spec races are fair yet easy. The only races that i do that are overkill is to test my setups on Costa di Amalfi

I think the Formula cars are overkill even for the FGT series, providing that you are a skilled A-Spec driver. A well-driven LMP or GTP car has been proven to beat many a Formula Car... I know because I was beating other such cars in their car, and I had never driven one before, therefore I was making all kinds of errors, but I still dominated the series.

The only way for it to be fair and hard to win race is in FGT with some ballast (not sure how much) to get to 200 point races... Now it becomes challenging.

it is only fair when you are racing the same (FGTWC) other-wise it has a huge advantage over the competition. that said if you were to add some balast and lower the gear ratio it will become more challanging.
