Opinions on GT6 In-Race Soundtrack

I usually hate complaining on GTPlanet, as it seems as it's what its mostly composed of, but is anyone else very unhappy with the soundtrack? GT soundtracks in the past have been very high quality, and fit the games perfectly. This game's doesn't even reach passable, it just seems bad. I mean-

I loved GT4's soundtrack. Favorite songs- Panama (Van Halen), The Pop Rox Remixes, and Apology For Non-Symmetry (Chronic Future)
GTPSP had a good soundtrack. Favorite songs- 808 PM at the Beach (Fred Falke) and Just One Second- Apex Remix (London Elekricity)
I also loved GT5's sound track. Favorite songs- Im Not Alone- DeadMau5 remix (Calvin Harris), Undercover Martyn (Two Door Cinema Club), and the daiki kasho songs.

GT6 has no InGame music songs that I love, or maybe even like. The song I've liked the most is Its Another Day (The Death Set), but that song was in NBA 2K12's soundtrack so I've already heart it countless times. Also, that "EXERCISE YOUR CHEMISTRYYYYY" in the loading screen for races is so awful i cringe every time. I don't think you can even change that out via menus. They all seem very mediocre and more bad then they are good. Its the worst part of what I think is an enjoyable game.

tl;dr I believe the GT6 In-Race soundtrack is very mediocre, and I was wondering if the GTPlanet's community's opinions are the same or differ to mine.

It's much better than GT5's to me. GT5 just had a whole bunch of dull dance and electronica songs.

I agree with you. The race music is horrid. Which is why I either use my own custom soundtrack or have the race music turned off completely. The menu music is fantastic though.

I like to keep an open mind. So in the spirit of my thread here I decided to include the game music in just having fun with the game.

I've not heard enough to form a firm opinion so I won't vote yet. So far it's been good and meh but that's pretty common with any game.

The best in-race songs for any Gran Turismo game end up being the ones by Daiki Kasho or the drum & bass tracks. Everything else is just terrible. GT5 was especially bad with their selection.

I don't think it's fair to blame PD for the fact that they used a song which had already been used in another game. Besides, as popular as NBA 2K12 may be in the US, its sales in Europe and Japan will likely be much lower as other sports are more popular than basketball around here.

I can honestly say that like others, I have never heard it...there is no time to listen to tunes when I'm racing, plus there are no radios or CD players in my race cars...weight saving!

In GT5 I turned off the music after a week. With GT6 I still got the music on after 3 weeks.

It's not great but its not horrible either.

After all, I didn't buy the game for the soundtrack anyway.

The Menu music is another story. Best of any game I have but then again I use my own music in it so

Yeah, some of the race music is good but most of it is bad so I just chose ok.

If you don't like It , just kill PD's music and play your own favourite tune from your PS3 HD.

Guess , it is easier to do that ,than asking PD to suit yours and everyone's else personal music style?

This is a valid point. I think I was just saying that to say it. It is a good song and a good pick by PD. I just wish they made more like it.

It is very good. I like it. As good or better than GT4's list. So much that haven't used the personal BGM option at all. Daiki Kasho has managed to impress me a lot this time around. Songs like Looking For You, All My Life, Edge of the World and specially, AL1V3 are pretty awesome songs.

Others like Rattle Snake Highway and some speedy punk rock songs are kind of annoying, but I usually just skip them. There are a lot of oldies too that are much appreciated, like Moon Over the Castle, GT PSP intro, the Japanse intro of GT5 Prologue, 5oul on d!splay and others.

I appreciate that PD doesn't use hip hop or any of those things. However, they kind of let me down when I noticed there is Dub Step, but the songs they chose aren't that terrible.

It's a decent soundtrack. I liked GT5's better but this one is alright. Didn't stop me from replacing it with GT1 and 2's soundtrack though. Finishing Goodwood 5-3 to "My Favorite Game" felt like a massive fist pump and nostalgia-gasm all in one.

Wooden Shjips and Daiki Kasho are the only ones that still hold me onto the original soundtrack. IMO this is one of the worst soundtracks (for races) since GT5. However, I agree that the menu soundtrack is great.

I've listened more and it's not bad. There are a few standouts and some "meh, it's music" tracks and a body of generally decent stuff. I still have to turn it off to drive my best though. Having something annoying or something that breaks my concentration playing while I'm trying to set my best times just doesn't help.

True. The issue with CUSTOM BMG is that MORE small hick ups and freezes are introduced into the game when you use CUSTOM BGM.
