There were multiple liveries fielded of the FLM09, but I chose the Green Earth Team Gunnar variant because of its eye catching paint scheme. The FLM09 is powered by a 6.2 liter Chevy race engine, which is unusually large for a non LMP1 car. As a result, it produces more torque than its main rivals, such as the Mazda B09/86 and Acura ARX-01b.

The fastest Chevy track cars that we currently have on GT are the C5.R and C6.R race cars, and I would love the FLM09 to be added so that we can pit Chevrolet up against the big dogs from Audi, Peugeot, Pescarolo etc...

This car is LMPC, not LMP2, so it isn't as fast as the HPD or AER-powered Lola that sits just above it.

While G-Oil strives to use the most environmentally-friendly oil out there, the livery is pretty damn ugly.

However, this car would be perfect for spec-racing, and that is why I would like it to be in the series.

Forgot to mention, the car's full legal name is Oreca FLM09. The only Chevrolet bit is the LS3 that sits in the back.

Did you not research this at all?

It may be team Oreca, but, like the (Dodge) Viper GTS-R Oreca, (Aston)-Lola B09/60, (Pescarolo)-Peugeot C60, etc., it is still fielded under the manufacturers name first and foremost.

All of them were built by Oreca-Courage, based on the LC75.

That is because a Viper, Aston Martin, Corvette, etc. is based on the production cars, but developed by a constructor like Prodrive, Michelotto, or Pratt & Miller.

The FLM09 IS an Oreca-Courage design, based on the LC75, built in La Sarthe, in France. The engine is a near-stock GM LS3 connected to an X-trac gearbox.

...which, in all of its various liveries, is fielded as a Chevrolet.

How in the flying 🤬 can it be called a Chevrolet when I just ****ing told you that only the engine is GM.

Calm down. If you are in the right, state your point simply and clearly.

. The Lola B09/86 has a Mazda engine - and is fielded as a >Mazda<

. The Lola B09/60 has an Aston Martin engine - and is fielded as an >Aston Martin<

. The Oreca FLM09 has a Chevrolet engine - and is fielded as a >Chevrolet<

I fail to see what is so hard to understand about this...

The "Aston Martin" and "Mazda" were Lolas, and the "Chevrolet" is a French-built LMPC car.

I agree. The Aston and Mazda's chassis are both built by Lola, and the Chevy is built by Oreca. But, regardless of that, these cars are invariably known by their engine suppliers and/or most significant company involved.

Now, if you think that I should include Oreca in the title, I will. However, it is primarily known as a Chevrolet, so I will not be dropping that from the title.

When the FLM09 was first announced to be the car of Formula Le Mans, I knew the car was built by Oreca as it looked too much like the LC75 to not be. I never knew what the engine was until it was mentioned to be a GM-built 6.2L V8. Never once have I ever identified this car as a Chevrolet. I do the same with Daytona Prototypes and LMP2 cars.

Sure, the engine is the heart of the car, but that doesn't change the constructor of the car. Do you see my point?
