Remember all the qualifier is tonight so ill need everyone from the drivers list to attend and set their best time on racing softs within the 5 laps they are allocated. The way the system works for those new to it are as follows.

5 laps to set your best lap. 1 driver on the track at a time. Those in the lounge are welcome to watch, chat, nap or do whatever they want providing they do not go out on track nor distract the driver out on track at the time.

Once the driver finished their 5 laps i not their best lap time and call out the next driver on the list. Simple really. This is how i will work out teams so get out there and set the best possible time you can.

In regards to the warm up (parade lap) that we had a test with. It will be implemented and i have updated the first post to reflect how it will work.

Cheers

I am open to try any way we want to start the race, But I am not a fan of doing a parade lap and then lining up at our grid box.

It will be very hard to organise and next to impossible to monitor, lag will play a part, and even if you watch the replay, someone could jump the gun by 2 tenths and you wouldn't have a conclusive answer because it might just be lag.

I say that if we're going to do standing starts, we try and figure out why it jumbles us up in qualifying as opposed to looking at an alternate way to do the standing start.

Just my 2 cents.

Oni, you're gonna have to watch the replay of the start very carefully mate, will be very easy to jump the start / lag the start as Bonson says...

just had an idea for your race start problem oni, how about you do qualifying as normal note the start order then set the race start to reverse grid and do a 1 lap race were the last person goes first and so on down the order then when you start the real race it will put you all in the right order i think this would work but not sure. just a thought as im bored at work. good luck anyway tonight.

True , but in a ~35 lap race is it a big factor ? I can imagine a scenario where a getting the lead (thanks to jumping the gun) and defending it for an hour would warrant investigation and penalty , but the chances of that are small IMO. From the tests the other night , it seemed like we all got away fairly at the start.

And from my experience racing with this group , the cream always rises to the top , I can't see even a second or two head start making a difference. (proven by the grid glitches in previous races)

Just my thoughts anyway :)

As Spinner said. There is no problem with how we tested it. If someone was to jump the start they would have to have jumped it by at least half a second which is very noticeable for them to gain any advantage which would be lost by turn 1 anyway.

Over a 35 - 45 lap race a few tenths off the line isn't going to make much of a difference. I trust all the driver in the series to obey the rules. If it becomes a problem then we can introduce a point deduction penalty and if it continues we will revert to the old system and just rely on GT5's system to work.

As I said, I'm fine with trying whatever, I just personally think that we could use different methods.

I've been testing the hard tyre, and I'm almost ready to pull out if I'm gonna have to run around on that for 30 laps a race.

It's a bloody nightmare. I honestly don't like this tyre idea.

The hards take 10 laps to go fully off... and running around on a hard tyre is like running at 50%. I don't think It's going to be enjoyable.

That wont work at all... It puts you by your lap time in the previous session (practise) not race... And by setting it to reverse grid then it'll put the faster guys at the back unless you change it... But it will reset the track and wipe all times and positions... Then it'll put everyone randomally...

soooooooo disapointed in my qualifying runs last night, just cant seem to get to grips with this car! hopefully i'll be paired up with someone who can help me tune.. which was the problem with taital and myself in the S15 series, as neither of us could tune the cars to save our lives!!
On the other hand, a big congrats to Xerx, that was a ripper lap, pulled off at the right time. well done mate!

Wilco, I was having huge tuning problems with the Sylvia because I was just going in the complete wrong direction.

I've ready at least 4 different tuning guides and have got my act together so I can give you a few tips to help you with car balance and oversteer/understeer if you like?

The Teams are up!

Be sure to check who your team mate is and work on setups and team colour before Race 1 next Monday at Nurburgring GP/F.

Cheers Willco
I honestly surprised myself with that lap as I had not gone sub-31 until then at all... I think that was why I was so pumped when I saw the time display stop counting! :D
Funny thing was I then went out and did 4 sub-31s back-to-back... Amazing what an extra boost of confidence can help you achieve! :)

The Teams are up!

:D Thanks Oni! 👍
Looks like we will be doing a bit more running together Mick! ;)
Consistency is key so if keeping the same team-mate from season to season counts as consistency then we are off to a good start mate! :)

AWW I GOT TIATAIL =(!

mike and online gt?? mikes not slow btw

Yeah i know which will make them hard to beat. However this is what happens when people dont turn up for the qualifier and im left with having to decide who will be there for most of the races and who wont be. Also any connection issues that may prevent people from racing in some races.

They maybe the only team in the series that run racing hards with 1 set of mediums only as they are both quick drivers.

I don't know... Willco is a quick driver too mate, dont sell him short! :) Once he gets his hands on your setup I expect both of you will be running the harder compound tyres too! ;)
I completely sympathise with the dilemma you have with regards to people no showing for the qualifier it does make things very tricky! :grumpy:
But if anyone can get it sorted fairly and efficiently mate it is yourself! 👍

Yeah willco is fast mate! i am actually hoping that after a few test sessions and setup advice that ill have him running racing hards with me from Race 1.

What hindered him the most last series was setup. I know willco and taital are not good with setups and they was on the same team which made it worse. Now they both have team mates that have an idea in regards to setups they should be back on pace like in the GT300 series.

Teamed with Xerxes again, good we know each others style and ideas.

It was a good session last night. The whole thing with all of us watching as guys set hot laps & watching the live timing, it feels like a real track event.

I think it'd be good if we did more events like this through the series.

Shame that there was disconn issues.

Yeah that was a lot of fun. Sorry waynz for pushing you off the your grid spot, but I honesty didn't see you there. Mick told me about it later, I had also forgotten my qualifying position and saw a gap and thought it was for me. Sorry mate. But all in all that was a great night and you all race clean and fast, hopefully I will get a some sort of setup that will help me get up towards the pointy end of the field.

Evan

dam in all honesty i was hopin to get mick_c_1080 or Spinner :) dam u bonson and your .030 quicker than me otherwise i would have had spinner! But mr TAITAL isnt slow either so should be some competition for the team championship!

:D I'm keeping Mick! ;)
He was a great team-mate least season and I'm very happy to have him again!... So you can't have him... :P

Good to see everyone is happy with their teams. May i suggest once you have a team colour sorted out to post it here to avoid any teams having the same colours.

Willco and i will be running a stealth theme so our team colour will be black
