Other cars faster in one make races

I have competed in quite a few of the one make races and every time I do the other cars walk right past me on the start and straight aways. On these one make races I can not change anything except the TCS and ABS. Ive tried automatic and manual. Is it where im shifting? Where are you shifting? Anyone else having this issue? Whats going on? My traction control is all the way off. ABS is default or weak. Example: 86 GRMN '16 race going on right now. Traction control 0 and ABS default or weak. Pass someone in the first turn and gain a few car lengths for them to pass me at a pretty good speed but I'm giving the car all it has.

I've heard about people having problems with controller or pedals that aren't giving full throttle or braking. Make sure that your throttle is going all the way to the top on the indicator.

I generally shift when the rev lights turn blue and flashes. Haven't done much of the one make races, so I couldn't tell you if certain cars benefit from early shifts.

I'm in no way a fast racer but what track is this on. Pace on Myabi for instance in my experience is very much determined by driving line and exit speed from chicane etc.

Have you done circuit experience in Campaign for the track concerned as that may help with best lines/braking points etc.

Hope this assists - suspect would need more specific information to assist further.

^^ What he said. When I first started I even thought my pedals were defective. But it is probably your entrance and exits to corners as well as your racing line that is causing this. Many of these tracks are momentum based especially in same make races.

I'd start with looking at your qualifying times vs. the best drivers and post a video to YT so we can see how you drive.

I saw posted on another thread (1.06 changes?) that you download and watch the top 10 qualifying times, similar to the time trials in GT6. I haven't seen the option to do this though, but I'm sure it would help. Maybe someone can chime in on this, is it possible?

When are you shifting? The single car races are usually road cars. They're not configured to always give the best acceleration at high revs. In a lot of cases it's better to shift earlier than max revs.

Obviously depends on the car though.

This makes me wonder, I've driven cars of the same make next to someone and had them go faster than me, I use a wheel. I think I better check the pedals.

Go into daily races, click on leaderboards and pick top drivers, most of them will have a blue (|>) next to their name meaning you can watch the replay.

Thank you, I will check this out next time I'm on. OP this may help you also.

Picked up my G29 today and ended up doing the one make 86 race at Alsace. In hindsight that wasn't a great idea! I felt the same as you. Then flipped back to DS4 and confirmed that whilst I need to tidy the braking/steering a bit I wasn't too far off. But most races I seemed to be going backwards a lot with the amount if people overtaking me (I'm not usually *that* bad). I think I'll put it down to the 86 just not being my cup of tea, esp when it comes to stopping!
