Our Lan Setup

hey guys I'm new to the forums here but i like what i see so far! I work at an indoor gokart track near portland oregon and we've just completed a set of simulators for GT4. I've attached some pics (hopefully they work) let me know what you guys think!

We have had some weird issues with the setup though. I don't know if it's a problem with the router/switch we're using or with the ps/2's themselves but if we connect more than 4 players the game slows down big time. It's not lag, it's just plain slow; the lap timer and game play seem to be about 75% of normal. Has anybody else experienced this or can anybody give me some pointers? It all works fine with 4 or less players though even if the remaining sims are hooked up as tv style monitors.

If any of you are in the Portland area give me a shout and maybe we can organize some kind of league or something!

That is a beautiful set-up, very impressive, and I really like your solutions for some difficult problems!

Slowdown problem: have you tried swapping out individual consoles, to see if one or more of them are causing this problem? I've heard others describe the slowdown here before, but I don't remember hearing a solution for it. If you find one, please describe what solved it here.

Cheers,

MasterGT

thanks for the suggestion, i'll give that a try tomorrow.

We've had some great battles with 4-5 players and would like to be able to add a sixth! There are about 7 or 8 of us that are GT veterans and the racing gets pretty intense :)

HOLY CRAP! dude that must be so much money to make all those... dude online lan gokart? is it like a real lan center where anybody comes and play or is it in your basement and you just invite friends over to play?

We don't let just anybody play, because the DFP isn't exactly durable. Mostly we just let our long time trusted customers and employees (and people interested in buying them) play. As for the gokarts, well they're a whole separate deal :)

You're right, it was pretty expensive. But only because we didnt' really go about it in the smartest way. We slowly progressed from seats, steering wheels and TV's to what you see in the pictures. This meant constant tearing apart and re-welding of all the sims.

Here's a pic of us in action yesterday!
