I was racing in the Type R race for Honda Type R cars at Autumn Ring reverse, this morning in a NSX-R, starting from sixth, behind a Civic. As the field came around the last corner into the main straight, the Civic in front of me ran off the road into the sandtrap runoff area at the side of the track. So my car took over fifth place, gaining one place even before the race had started. The Civic came back onto the track right behind me and started shunting me but wasn't able to back to get past me and so when the cars were released off the finish line I was 5th and started racing, thanks to the Civic going off. Not that it mattered because I went from 5th to 2nd before the first corner anyways :). I've seen it happen on the same corner in another race before and it seems to be a random happening. Anyone seen this happen before?

yes, it happens. I know a few courses, Hong Kong and Opera Paris. It happens only if you use a very high-powered car and your opponents are slow.., 👍

You mention the shunting by the civic; this is one thing about GT4 which has me switching off the console... why do the cpu cars insist on performing a PIT maneuver on you every time you are where 'they' want to be, it's like they are diving blind or just without a brain engaged they also break for a corner for no reason even when there is no chance of them loosing it.

This happened to me, at the Speedster trophy, word for word. It was quite funny, since all the cars mess up on the last corner at Autumn ring R. Only happened once!:)

I think the La Festa Italiano races had me in a lather a few years ago because before the start of the race, the car I was driving would come out of the hairpin on Autumn Ring and drive straight into the sandtrap, costing me 5 seconds and leaving me so far behind the field it was near impossible to win.

At least it was in my old Alfa 147GTA.

I nearly gave myself a brain aneurism over that race, but when I finally won it... christ did I party!

LOL, haven't raced that one since...

I find that on the reverse Autumn Ring, my car in sixth (if there is no qualifying) goes into the sand trap but it gets out quite quickly and I don't lose any significant amount of time so I've never really worried about it. It happens quite often on that track and regardless of what championship I'm in.
