Overtaking

Must be me but I’m finding it very hard to overtake on the Nordschleife it’s very narrow and with pretty evenly matched cars I’m having to wait for the car in front to make a mistake or for the long strait at the end of the lap.

Just curious is any one else finding this ?

Honestly as with any narrow track it's always tough to overtake but I find that track knowledge comes into play massively with that, as you've sort of got to plan an overtake on a section where you know you can get a superior drive off the corner and overtake straight after.

IMO a good part is early in the track after the initial first tight section, there's a longish straight followed by two relatively open long right hand corners IIRC... most people hit the brakes hard there because I think it's uphil and slightly blind, but you can definitely full throttle over that in certain cars and catch them on the inside.

There are plenty of spots around the track but with it being so narrow you've kind of gotta get your elbows out a bit , which most people online have absolutely no issue with doing lol...

Definitely agree tactics need to change from GT5 and GT6 this game is far more a challenge.

what race was this btw? was this in sport mode, or just in an online lobby?

Nothing can be worse than having Suzuka East course in sport mode like in week 1... what a nightmare that was, no space anywhere and just a train formed around the track, with everyone trying to punt everyone off for position.

I feel as though with nurburg, there's 2 or 3 sections with that cambered concrete which people 95% of the time make a mistake on because they underestimate the camber and different surface... So sometimes you can get a good run at them coming out of those corners.

Watch actual races of the nordshlieffe. Trading paint is ok, just do it RIGHT and don’t ram ppl off the road. Even professionals get their elbows dirty. There is more room there than you think, in fact you can line 2 cars up door-to-door and I have plenty of room on their side

And if that doesn't work you can always buy a transit van and go sabine schmidt on these bums.

Just online lobby with friends we had a few hours great racing very clean and very close racing.

It’s just we all noticed how much harder it was to pass as the track is definitely narrower than previous GT games.

Wasn’t a moan or anything was curious to see if other players had noticed.

Best place to pass is the latter half of the straight set youre opponent up to use his draft to pass him just before the sweeping corners where it gets narrow again. Yes you will have to be patient but it's the best place to clean pass. Or if someone is attacking you wait till just before the straight and let them pass so you can steal their draft again and pass them in the same way. Strategy. And patience.
