None.
So, I had an idea for rally pace notes in GT6. What if, when rallying online, you would have an option for the game to split all the people in the lobby in two groups: drivers and co-drivers. Then the game would give pace notes for the co-drivers for the chosen track. And then the co-drivers would be put onboard with their designated driverand they would read the pace notes to the driver through a microphone. It's important that every driver hears only their co-driver, all others' mics should be muted automaticaly.

What do you think? :) Can PD do this?

Not a bad idea, but probably a little too in-depth for a series that can't get AI or sounds right. But then again, we've got a moon vehicle and accurate stars at night so any wacky idea could fly:cheers:

This is actually done in believe it or not, Gran Theft Auto V (GTA Online to be specific).
It's a disaster because many people don't use microphones, so the Rally mode has been neglected to the depths of irrelevance, but if someone does have it and is the course instructor, it feels really authentic and fun.

i never played an gta online rally type race but it says you can tell the driver where to go but i don't know how.

If grand theft auto online had this then why don't make this for gran turismo 6?

The number of people that don't have/use microphones well outweighs the number of people that do.
Because more than 50% of people don't have something isn't a reason for not including it. Less than 20% of people have wheels and they are supported. I'd guess less than 1% have triple screens and they are supported. Heck, at it's best there were only a few thousand people online in GT5 and it's supported.

If anything it would be an incentive for people to buy mics or headsets and might spur on some sales.

The Rally directions races (I've only done it on the city streets) are absolutely awesome in Grand Theft Auto (and the damage and repair system) wouldn't hurt in GT6.

Hey, I don't disagree with the idea and I'm fine with it being implemented. It could be fun, especially with friends. I'm just say that most PS gamers don't have a microphone so it would probably be a neglected mode or you'd be matched together with someone without a microphone. Although you'd hope the game would have some detection and restrict you from being a co-driver if you don't have a mic connected. Or require mics regardless of being driver or co-driver so there's communication both ways.

If someone doesn't have or want to use a microphone, the game could generate pace notes and the co-driver could just select when to say them by pushing the X button or something.

I can already imagine, "4 left" *actually a 3 right or something* *CRASH* "YOU SAID IT WAS A 4 LEFT!" XD
And other memorable one liners such as:

"where did you buy your licence, India?!"
&
"the road's that way"

 Since when do co-drivers accelerate the car, sk8ter? :D

Maybe it could be a feature in licence tests, if you're the instructor for your B-spec drivers :sly:

I like this idea. Except for the mic thing. Not everyone has a mic. Or those who have, not all have a good internet connection. So maybe choose, whether you want to speak, or push designated buttons instead.
X + left / right = soft left / right
O + left / right = medium ___"___
Square + ___"___ = hard ___"___
Triangle + ___"___ = hairpin ___"___

You get the idea. Just an example.

I like the idea, but particularly the disconnect-problem is a problem. If anything I think it would be awesome if we, during practice runs had an option to create notes for the game to read to us. Say, I host a rally event on a rally course in rally mode (which is time trial with pace notes, let's pretend that's an option for hosts to allow/disallow along with TCS etc). Each player can then, while driving in "practice" mode, park their car at a corner, and select which pace note they want used at which part of the track. They would of course also be able to do this offline in time trial if you prefer it that way, and you can then load that "setup" for the track it was created for.

Alternatively, drive one or two laps offline with a friend or member of your family making pace notes and reading them loud to you when in competition :)

What you said there is really genius!
