This was one of the first two Panoz cars I knew, the other one was the GTR-1. They were in the game "Midtown Madness 2", my first PC-exclusive racing game. It's fitted with a soft top in the game though, and that had an effect of me when I'm trying to picture the car in my head - I always desire to attempt hard in visualizing it as having a soft top fitted! This was the fastest car in the game, if you excluded the initially locked vehicles. I have good memories of spending time with that virtual version of the car.

Ok, putting memories of that childhood experience aside...

I thought it looked really classy, especially from the back.

When I first saw the car virtually as a kid, I thought it's a classic, not from the 90s! It also has the kind of classiness usually not found on relatively lightweight cars. The Plymouth Prowler, its main rival, looks cumbersome compared to this. The Panoz AIV Roadster makes me think of the Shelby Cobra, too. It's like a reinterpretation of that legend. I'd love to see this car in GT6.

I thought I was the first to suggest this rather cool and interesting roadster, after GTP's search didn't return anything but posts on the Panoz racecar & some other OT posts with the Panoz name in them.

Perhaps we can get 2 models ?, a '96 & a '99, just like the Veyron(s) or Huayra(s) ! :dopey:

  • this is 1992-95 version that is sadly riced
So according to site successor will come soon. For now, there are 750HP upgrades too. If OP would change the year to 2015 there would be nothing to lose.
