David Brabham and Jan Magnussen were let off of Panoz Motorsports so Panoz can have a fresh start, but why give up your two best drivers? Luckily I poke to David at Petit Le Mans and got to see him before he left, good luck to those two drivers!

Who will they race for now?

They're both big-name drivers, with big-name paychecks. Panoz is looking to put some more cash into developing the car, rather than paying the drivers to drive a pile of poo.

I've heard that Magnussen is going to Formula 1 again..

That's massively unlikely.

Panoz is at a cross roads. His front-engined cars will be effectively outlawed for 2004 LeMans due to new undertray ground effect rules and his two drivers are expensive and both want to win now. Magnussen is too old to go into F1 again and is likely to find a seat in CART. Brabham will likely fill a seat in an Audi R8 for a team next year.

Panoz needs to spend his money developing a new mid-engine chassis as the front engine design will never pass the new rules. He needs the big pay Brabham and Magnussen demand to do this. Merely a business decision. Its a shame, I enjoy seeing the radical Panoz machine out there.
