Simply amazing.

She's been paralyzed since she was 13 and won two silver medals at Beijing in hand cycling road. She apparently had an accident and fell out of her wheel chair and while recovering she noticed her feet were tingling. After months of rehab she began to regain the use of her legs and is now looking to compete in the London Olympic games as a "regular" cyclist.

If I were her I would've had a crisis.

I would very much like for her to be researched instead of training.

Could she have had whatever condition Ricky Bobby had when he was mentally convinced his legs were paralyzed? Or, in other words, what is the medical protocol for proving one as "paralyzed?" I'm ignorant on the subject. I do know that one's physiological attributes can be majorly affected by one's mental disposition, and maybe she felt she couldn't use her legs, making her unable to use them.

It could be that a nerve was being constantly pinched in her spine and that the fall dislodged the spine.

If I was her however, I'd wrap myself up in cotton wool and consider myself lucky beyond anything ever.

This should be on the bbc news surely O.o

Nevermind.. I thought she would be competing in London 2012 as OP said but she hopes to make Brazil 2016 👍

OP you might want to change that because it could cause further confusion :)
