Can someone please give me some tips to get through mission 12 with the ambulance? I sure want that infinite run (without cheating)...

I'm wondering on which island is this best to do, and when in your game should you do it, and how do you keep your ambulance in shape through all those missions???

Thats alot of questions, but I'm sure that someone here have done it!

I did mine on Portland. One thing I found out thats cool is that you can fit more than one person in the ambulance. You can have up to three people in the ambulance. The best time to do it is at the beginning of the game where nobody hates you yet and you dont have to worry about anybody blowing up you and your ambulance.

I did it in portland, I also put on the handling cheat. and switch the horn to a different button other than L3, it is a piss off when you accidently hit the horn and jump a good 10 feet, landing on the roof of the ambulance.

The best island is portland, but do them early in the game before the mafia and triads are after you.

to make the ambulance last through 12 levels try driving slower than normal. sounds weird but going flatout will trash the van in no time since the handling and brakes are pretty crap. going about half to 3/4 speed lets you safely swerve without tipping, saving on the damage.

use the handbrake around corners and it stops the extreme body roll and pick up 3 patients ata time to gather up as much time as possible. time doesn't build up through the missions either so use the full time your given for each level by driving careful and dodging vs. traffic ploughing.

another tactic i used, while dangerous, is to hit the handbrake and slide the ambulance so either the passenger door
or rear doors are facing the pickup. one prob is mis-judging the slide of the rear end and wiping out the person your trying to pickup. learnt the hardway...

portlands only easy before people hate you otherwise you get toasted by tyhe mafia. I did mine in Staunton as all the streets are pretty straight and you can find your patient easily. Only tip : drive slowly :D

Thats why I did mine on Portland before I pissed anybody off there. Alot easier that way.

the problem with staunton though, is the entrance to the hospital which is TOTALLY INSANE!!!

not if you go over the grass or in the proper entrance (east of hospital) but it is a long way north. :(

I didnt think of that. I never tried it on Shoreside. It might be easier then again maybe not. I dont know.

But there is the nightmare of all the twisty roads and the river with only 2 (ok 3 if you count the 'impossible to drive fast in' tunnel) crossing points. The gateway to the Hospital is better than the one on Staunton though.

True story: for the last three days, I've been working on ambulances at work, unsupervised. (I'm a mobile radio tech/installer) I was cruising an ambulance around the parking lot & playing with the lights, they handle just as bad as they do in the game! Well, the GVW was over 10,000 lbs... I had to fight the urge to go do some real-life paramedic missions. 😈
