Was wondering how many participants are over the age of 50. What is your age and your lap time. I am 55 years old and so far my lap time is 2:21.350. That puts my Regional Ranking at 835 so far. I have put in about 4 hours so far.

Thanks and good luck everyone.

PS: You don't have to be over 50 to post if you want to just post your age (no matter what it is) and time please do so

56 years old and currently on 2:22.1xx, which put me around 1500 in my region last time I looked. I'd be very pleased to get in the top 1000 but I seem to have hit a bit of a wall and I'm not going to get the opportunity for many more sessions before the end. I reckon I've put in about 4 hours too.

53 and just started trying yesterday so I haven't put in a lap yet - but I will soon :sly:

Edit: 2:22.888 for provisional 96th regional (Norway) and 19491st worldwide.

I'm only 24 I have a 2:20.1xx and hit a wall. Luckily my vacation starts tomorrow! Week I academy. My dad however is 56. He has a 2:23.5xx. Bought him a ps3 and gt5 two years ago for Christmas! Been playing gran turismo with him since 1998 when I was in second grade. : )

I'm 66 and play GT5 nearly every day. I have been putting some practice time on this years Academy. My skill set hasn't let me get any place near Gold times, and I doubt that I will put in the extra time that would take unless some amazing unlock or prize structure was announced. I worked hard on last year's GT Academy to earn the prize cars offered for gold.

I'm 65 and have a low 2:24.xxx. Don't think i have spent more than 20 minutes on the time trial. Might find another 2 second if i would learn the track.

I'm 51 and have a 2:19.7xx. I've spent about 6 hours on it. Don't know if I'll be going at it again though.

53. Probably have about 15 total clean runs in. Best has been a 2:21.031. Mainly wanted to try out the physics. Last week I was #287 in the US. Just checked and have dropped to #691. Don't have plans to have any more time on track. I don't know what drives me crazier-Turn 1 or Copse... sometimes both!

edit: Ran again for a 2:19.996 #317 in the US. Was hoping to get into the teens-just barely but in.

I'm 65 & my lap time is 2:22.311 after about 3 hours of trying to improve using a DS3. I probably could improve but I keep making little mistakes that cost me time. :grumpy: It's a fun TT, but I think I've hit the wall & can't do better. 👎

Thank you for posting StirlingMoose. Great time you have there, hope you get to have time to maybe reach your goal of the top 1000.

Hi Zeeto I was 40 years old in 1998 when you started playing with your dad. That is also the year I bought a PS1 and GT1 have beeen hooked on driving games ever since. BTW great lap time you have.

Hi Recin-Rev great to see you playing racing games at 66 years old. Lets me know I have a few years left in me. I agree with last year working hard to get those prize cars. I wish they would give us something for getting gold this year. Crossing my fingers hopeing they will.

Hi Flash low 2:24's is good enough for gold. I am sure you will shave off alot more than that if you have only spent 20 mins so far. Go for it

Hi nebularis 2:19.7 in 6 hours awesome. I don't think I will get a time like that good job.

52. It took me about a week for a 2:19:215 with my beloved DS3. Then I quit after watching the 2013 ALMS race at Lime Rock on youtube. It reminded me how much I've always wanted a real RACING simulator, with lots of real tracks and racing cars ONLY. Bye-bye Gran Turismo. :D

1:19.6xx for me. And just in case if you're wondering, I'm no where near as old as you guys. I'm aiming for a 1:17.0xx or faster within 7 days

I'm 14

I'm 52 so it's nice to see a few more in my age bracket. I'm currently on a 2:21.1 but, while I know I could drop that a fair bit more, I haven't put a whole of time into it as I get bored with my own company! Personally, I much prefer joining the clean pro shuffle/spec rooms for a bit lively, no tuning, racing.

Your number 1 in the world by the best part of 1 minute & you want to go quicker.?

I'm 57 and haven't had much time to apply to GT Academy so far. I'm sitting at 2:22.520 for 1813th in the region.
BANG

Haven´t touched GT for two weeks. Been doing 4500km of ACTUAL driving, going on vacation! Just wanted to add my bit here: 50yo; 2.19.907 (DS3). Will resume trying to beat that -But surely i`m a bit rusty with a two week break!
BTW: Nice PSN-ID you´ve got there, tlfarns!

Hi, I'm 61 & currently on a 2:21.3 uisng a pad. There was a similar post on last years academy forum for over 60's and sveral new friends were made then which is great when comparing times here or in seasonal time trials. Happy to receive any friend requests from other oldies.

I'm 69 this year, and will turn 70 next year. Got the gold after many laps, but that's about my limit. Now if someone younger could loan me a better set of eyes and reflexes, I could probably do much better! :)

I know what you mean about a better set of eyes and reflexes. Congratulations on getting the gold. I hope when I get 69 years old I am still able to play racing games. You are the oldest person to respond to this post that alone should deserve a gold medal.

HI Guys. I'm 59 and have been a regular racer on Gran Turismo for the past 3 years. I'll have to go and have a crack at this now. Congrats to Jaybar, I hope I'm that competitive in 10 years :)

I just managed to gold it on a 2:24.295 :)

I'm 35 and this thread is full of mature inspiration! Nice work fellas.

Have to agree leeislee. After just recently hitting the four zero and having followed the GT franchise from the start - it's wonderful to learn our slightly older and wiser brothers still going as hard as ever. 👍
