What makes the pass, turn, speed etc pop up? I don't see turn or pass for each car and corner. Sometimes they won't pop up for a long time even though you pass cars and turn. Same for speed. Sometimes they pop up and some not.

I think it's a bug they need to fix.

Speed feat comes up once you've gone above 180 and will subsequently reappear the higher your top speed, turn feat comes up whenever you turn a corner, a documented corner of the track that, perfect apex entry or otherwise, pass feat comes up whenever you pass another vehicle, perfectly or otherwise.

There's also the draft feat.

I know why but not why it's random and broken. If pass comes whenever you pass a car then it's clearly broken. Same for turn. They don't happen every car or corner. It's broken I think. I. Can go minutes with no pop up even though I turn bunch of corners and pass tons of cars. It even says turn for like say 2 laps and not once pass. Things like that are what I'm curious about.

You're literally the first person I've seen complaining of this.

Hm. Try turning the feats off, exit all the way to the main screen (where you have to press A to get things going), and then turn the feats back on.

Feats don't appear if you invalidate your lap with the respective task. For example, if you nick your opponent while passing them or accidentally take all four wheels off onto the grass while making a turn. That's the only explanation I can think of.

And Drift

Feats even come with touching cars and bad turns. I got a perfect pass once even. Though I nicked. The. Car at the end of the pass. Invalidated laps I still get turn and pass feats, but this is something to look for next time I. Drive.

A turn feat will be invalidated if you go off on that respective turn, or bump a car, or graze a wall. Basically anything that would invalidate a normal lap, done during the turn, will invalidate the feat as well.

Pass feats are given out once per car: if you pass the 2nd place car, it overtakes you two turns later, and then you re-take 2nd, you only get the first feat. Getting a perfect feat and hitting an opponent is semi-common; it counts as soon as you are in front of them, even by just an inch, so you probably had pulled slightly ahead then back behind when you make contact.

The drift one is pretty straight-forward, though oddly enough, you can get fairly high ones on FWD cars! Draft is pretty simple too.

Speed is related to your car's top speed (I believe the one benchmark provides). I've had a 2-bar feat in my near-stock AW11, so it's definitely not a hard number.

...slightly related, what I've found incredibly annoying is that a lap will be invalidated by an opponent drafting you. I understand why it would be if the situation was reversed, but how is another car drafting me affecting my lap?

From a different thread.

If you mean that the AI is slipstreaming behind you, it will give you an advantage also. The airflow doesn't stop after your car, it will continue, so it gives you both an advantage. My English aint that great so I hope you understand. The wind leaving the car is pushed downwards, back towards the car and up again. That is creating a 'sucking'-like something. (sorry). So when someone is driving behind you, that is happening to the car behind you, so it'll effect both.

I hope this works for you!

After turning feats pop up off then going to hit a screen to play then turning it on, that I think helped. But I'm still not sure. I wish there was an explanation by turn 10.

I turned the feature off the first time I saw it. I dont need the computer to tell me when I made a good corner, drift or pass, I know it. Beside it was annoying. Less distraction -> more time to focus on line.

It's already been mentioned, but I'd like to call out again that this is incorrect. It's got to do with the top speed of your car. I received my first 4-bar Speed rating while doing about 138 mph.

Also, does anyone else find it ironic that a poster with the ID of "SlipZtrEm" doesn't understand how drafting helps all cars involved. ;)

FWIW, I do find it annoying that AI drafting you invalidates your lap. You're almost relegated to doing hotlaps for record setting. That isn't how lap records work in the real racing world.

Yes yes, I realize the irony :P

I recognize the advantages when cars are nearer to me, absolutely (an extreme example being bump-drafting), but it seems that cars can be an unnecessarily far distance away and still discredit my time. Nevermind that they might only be in my airflow for a fraction of a second... it's very frustrating.
