Patch V2.0 content Suggestions, Requests and such (NOT a Wishlist)

As patch V2.0 is in works (as Ferraripro kindly informed us last week and on AVForums there is an semi-official confirmation it is scheduled for September) and some issues hasn't been solved yet, there is so many room for improvement of FCTP in the future.

And since Eutechnyx presented themselves as an great team that actually want to listen what community wants, here is the place for you to notify all your requests regarding game and gameplay assets.

Since this is not tended to be an wishlist thread, please leave the cars and tracks out of this topic.

Thanx to everybody for cooperation.

EDIT: I'll be adding all your respectful suggestions in this first topic under appropriate categories in order to make the list coherent.



GENERAL
- ADJUSTABLE seat-position for in-cokpit view
- changeable players' name in single-player races
- Croatian flag in Team options for MP :), as well as flags of other European countries that are missing
- sound adjustment for sound level of other cars in race in DTS Surround mode (other car's noise is too loud when racing in close)
- ability to install the game on HDD in order to make loading-times faster and improve overall stability of the game (in my case, sometimes game just freezes on various loading screens, and console restarts by itself shortly afterwards)
- car-setting options for all race cars in game for all game types (not just in Challenge races)
- HUD-elements tu be able to turn oN/OFF separately (map, lap, counter, distances...)

WHEEL OPTIONS
- opposite sequential shifter mode
- ability to have left-right views on red buttons on G25. That way the rear-view mirror and side mirrors would become useful, and classic "rear-view" wouldn't be so much needed (in short, ability to re-map the buttons to personal like)
- fix the dead-zone (AKA: null the dead zone)

RACING
- GEAR INDICATOR for in-cockpit view (other indicators - revs, speed - are not important for in-cockpit)
- HUD visibility options: ON, OFF, DIM (for all plasma TV users) and DYNAMIC (last one would show position, times and such when crossing the start/finish line in every lap and then disappeared until next lap)
- correct the distance-view of the in-car rear-view mirror (cars are too small even when they are on your rear bumper)
- tone-DOWN the tyre-SMOKE effect
- flag Rules (you can overtake under yellow flag. It's forbidden in real life.)

MULTIPLAYER GENERAL
- improve OVERALL STABILITY of online multiplayer (players being bump-out of races after somebody enters the lobby while race is in progress, game freezes for the same reasons for a moment for players in race, players being bump-out of lobby immediately before race starts, etc.)
- QUALIFYING sessions of any kind (maybe just for the 1st race, while other starts would be determined by results of the race that's ended. New players in lobby would have to start from back positions, respectfully)
- STANDING starts - it would produce even more exciting online races
- MULTI-RACE SESSIONS - the host can define, from the start, how many races and tracks, or even Challenge rules - two races in each track
- CAR SETTING options for race cars for multiplayer races

MULTIPLAYER OTHER
- other players names in white color only, without canvas and cloud
- "best lap" for every player in results and highlighted the best lap overall for player who achieved it after race
- displaying car that is run within the lobby (when the car is set to ALL in the lobby search)
- viewable stats for players (where we can see how many races a guy participated in, won, (didn't) complete, which is his most raced track, car..)

MULTIPLAYER HOST/PLAYER MATCHING ISSUES
- host to be able to determine the usage of driving-aids for his lobby
- host/other players to be able to kick-out players (voting or similar)
- racing line on/off to be mandatory to turn on/off for every player
- private lobbies of any kind
- option to mute some players
- "Invite Friends" option to actually work

VARIOUS (unlikey to happen as an part of update or patch, but still overall suggestions)
- tyre and Fuel Usage
- adjust the graphic engine in order to show pavement on the track as GREY and not brown/brownish (I guess it would require HDD install, and it's pretty impossible to do at this moment, but it's a valid point nonetheless for the future)
- changable Weather
- physical Damage that impacts car performance.

For the multiplayer Mode:
Displaying what car you'll have to run with in the lobby. (when the car is set to ALL in the lobby search)
 
Some good sugestions Amar.

I pretty much agre with everything you wrote, and have a few things to add. ( I also mention something you already sad, just for indicating how important that is.)

The things i would want most from a patch, would be...

Racing
A gear indicator showing wich gear the car is in, when driving with the in car view. Must have.

Multi player.

- Option to mute other players. This is a must have. It is pretty much a game breaker being forced to listen to all kinds of languages and kids yelling in the mic.
- Private races.

And for something wich you dident mention, but i see as very important..

- Option for the host, to select wich aids are alowed for a race. So all participants must drive under equal terms. TC SC and so on. Its not fun driving multiplayer with all aids off, when other people just use them and thereby gaining and avantage. It pretty much forces everyone to use them to stay competetive.

-Some viewable stats for players, where we can see how many races a guy participated in, won, dident complete, wich is his most raced track, car, and so on.
 
- Restart option in every race
- Saving after every race

Hm, this is something to discuss.

I presume that structure of game does not allow you to restart race in every mode 100% deliberatly, not because such option couldn't exist. It is frustrating, nodubtfuly - I lost 1st place on 360GT Trophy yesterday by 2 points - but it is the part of the gameplay structure.
 
Well the online is still quite unstable with random disconnects and freezes when some one leaves the room so this needs to be addressed in patch 2.
 
I would also like to see the restart option. On a track I have not driven before (I prefer not to qualify as I can get more money for finishing first) it would be useful (I am still trying to work through for the first time as I was struggling a bit until the patch). Also, on some tracks the start does not necessarily fall at a particularly convenient place on the track and it is easy to misjudge at the first attempt at that track.

It does not stop me from doing (a somewhat long-winded) restart with a quit and reload. I just find it an annoying aspect of an otherwise enjoyable (mostly!) game.
 
Personally, i really want the clutch to be enabled and to be able to look left/right in cockpit view. Maybe a button that allows the driver to glance at his in-car HUD, therefore showing speed/revs/current gear. Alot of the time i see the display is just off screen and would be great to have a button that you can hold to check out the display...also better contrast of the display so you can quickly glance at it and you dont need to spend time trying to find what your looking at, it sticks out.

I wish many things for Patch V2 but all of them would be not fixable things but only things must recoded.

-Changable Weather
-Physical Damage that impacts car performance.
-Tyre and Fuel Usage (seriously you can race for 45minutes in which car condition? same fuel same tyres. this game should be a simulation game. but how forget real life rules (logic)?)
-Standing Start (I never like rolling start)
-Flag Rules (you can overtake under yellow flag. It's forbidden in real life.)

I will add more later.
 
This thread is a great idea amar, and I agree with all suggestions presented so far 👍

I'll add a few ideas, concerning online:

- KICK/BAN powers given to the host, sometimes you really need that to have an enjoyable room, because it takes only one moron to ruin the fun for everybody else present

- Password sessions, so players can arrange closed championships/tournaments (I don't know if this was on your mind when you suggested "Private lobbies of any kind" )

- The option to turn the race line on/off given to any player and not to be defined by host. On the contrary, driving aids should be set by host and mandatory for all players (but that is already suggested).

- Multi-race sessions meaning, the host can define, from the start, how many races and where, or even Challenge rules - two races in each track

I would like the ability to pause race replays and manually move the camera into any position I choose - thus allowing me to take the perfect picture.



Time Trial mode:

Let us gain control of the car before we hit the start/finish straight. The AI speed is too slow when it hands over the controls to the player, the player is forced to doddle around for the first lap before you can start banging in the fast laps. This mode also needs a restart option.

Visual car tweaks:

FXX - the body needs lowering as it's sitting too high.

F40 - the left hand side of cockpit (edge of windscreen), could you please remove those horrible jaggies? :yuck:

F50 - I don't know if the real car has some sort of UV filter on the windsreen, but the game version has a dark tint to it which causes some visual problems with a the trees lining the track.

All light coloured interiored cars - weird shadowing problems on the roof of the car when in cockpit view, eg. rolling lines, chequed pattern.

- I would like to see and adjusted replay function, like the real camera feeds that come from trackracing. Skip the upcloseandpersonalcarreplay ;) or make options for different replay angels.

- Pitstops (I know ;) )
- Flickering when starting to race right in front
- Gearing F333SP
- Deadzone steeringwheel
- Realseatpositionview when driving in car
- Upgrade My Driving Skills :D

Yeah, I get some black shadow like flickering when I start.

This being a Ferrari game, engine sounds are crucial to the immersion factor. Though decent I believe PC mods like rfactors HistoriX mod show there is much room for improvement.
 
i saw the setups, and they are TERRIBLY tedious to adjust ... Evey adjustment is a different screen - one for 'front' and another for 'rear' ...UGH ... give us 1/2 main screens !!
 
On game startup the wheel does a calibration, my Logitech DFGT wheel at the end of the calibration is in a hard left turn (about 270 degrees out of center), I have to manually corect it, it was something when it first happened without me noticing it & a race started!
This is the only game that happens in.
 
In addition to fixing the dead zone it would be nice if we had multiple adjustments from say 1-10 for FFB, linearity, weight etc. aka Grid type controls.

I'd like to be able to install the tracks on the Hard Drive. Hopefully that would speed up loading times.
 
After playing happily over 20 hours to FC have reached a conclusion. I believe that the model to drive is very good, but I would do a couple of changes.
1) Reducing the grip a bit of wheel drive.
2) Make the fastest transfers of load (braking or slipped side), especially when the back slips because of loss of grip. The over-steering at the time seems to slow motion and in reality this operation must be made very quickly after the crush of the car.

More scope for race distances

The ability to save replays of online races

Performance affecting damage (with ability to fix it in the pits)
 
I'd like it if they would remove the dark visor effect on the in car view, (that's what I assume that dark view is).
 
i would like if they put visor in game when looking from cockpit view, the harder it is the more fun it gets ;-)

👍 The greatest feature of Ubisoft's F1 Championship Racing from 2001 (PS2) after the best F1 feeling EVER on consoles, especially rain racing. Helmet on! :D

Just experienced a bug:

I was driving in Trophy Mode in Mont Treblant with the F40. I was first from the startup. After approx 7 rounds, i awaited the Final Lap (counter was by Zero)....but it didnt appear. I was driving another 2 Rounds when i saw that on the screen i was 2nd (and for 100% i was first the whole race). After letting the KI pass i was 3rd and 4th and so on. So i retired the Race:


Trophy Mode, F40

Tracks:

Paul Ricard
Virginia Raceway
Mont Treblant

Somewhat strange bug, its the first time i had it.
