Pay for car damage

I hope not as I think this would fuel micro transactions. There has been a racing game in that you could either wait for repair or pay for it. There's money in it.

I would prefer a driver's rating that takes car damage into accounts, esp. regarding online racing.

I think I know the game you mean, and I love the feature. Sure it fuels micro transactions, but no-one forces you to pay and it might encourage cleaner driving.

Of course, by adding it as a setting it can be turned off.

I don't think it would be needed offline, but with that feature online, maybe some people would start using the brakes instead of using orter cars as "brakes". And maybe most of all idiots that suddenly starts driving the track in the wrong direction would stop doing that.

Would be great for online, as @Flash_Sweden said, as it would encourage cleaner racing. But it would have to be optional so that guys who like to race dirty can still enjoy GT6 online too.

It will not work for offline as long as the AI is so poor & keeps driving into us. I don't wanna be paying money out to fix my car just because some blind AI crash bot has decided to rear end me. It's frustrating enough suffering that without having to pay out on top of it.

That said, if the AI gets a good upgrade (oh look a flying pig), then your idea just might work.

For online use of this feature:

I will have to pay for my damaged car to repair when a 🤬 crashes into my trunk because he "forgot" to brake?
Ah no, if that was the case you would have to put an insurance claim in to recover your repair costs.
You did get their license plate - didn't you? :D

Insurance? Hell, great new feature to add to GT6. I`d like to buy insurances ingame, like 10% of car value - valid for 1 year. Or lifetime insurance = 50% of car value.
Maybe then I get rid of my money I don´t need for any other things. Like, like, like paint jobs, gears...

Forza has a model where the player pays for damage, however the costs are not crippling, and are taken out of the winnings of the event in which the damage occurred. Damage costs are below "realistic" levels.

I can see two situations where requiring the player to pay "realistic" damage costs could make real sense.

The first is for Online play with Collisions Off, where the participants choose to replace the loss of car-car collisions realism with the addition of consequences for driving beyond realistic limits and relying on such techniques as bouncing off walls to negotiate corners.

The other is for special events such as suggested in the thread about the Ouninpohja Rally stage in Finland.

This is a long and complex rally stage, with blind curves just beyond crests. From the video in that posting (click the sentence above), it's obvious that merely surviving this rally stage would be a delicious achievement. For a track like this, I'd like to see that the ONLY access to this track would be for timed events, and would require paying for realistic damage, up to, and including, complete write off of the car. So the ONLY way to learn the track would be to drive it knowing that there is a risk of costly mistakes.

1999 --> NFS Porsche 2k for PC.

The cars was permanently damaged (also if you restart the race) when you drive if crashes so that you have to repair or you don't have any way to win the race. So you must guide without crashes !!!

You can also repair a car that you buy used, and car increase value when repair or increase the features and with time (as collectible car)

And Was about 15 years ago !!!!!
