Pay It Forward... and other random acts of kindness

When remote B-spec racing was released, I signed up to be added and to add friends through this site, and recieved a ton of requests. About 40+ friends, actually. With their help, I've been able to pick up a few things here and there that I might not normally see or have the credits for.

To say thank you, I started gifting museum cards to those on my friends list. I've got tons of extras, and thought someone may gift some cards back that I didn't already have. Since the memory glitch, I hadn't looked over the recent cards I recieved, so this gave me the chance to do so while getting rid of the extras.

Almost immediately, I was surprised at the response. They're just museum cards (which is probably what you're saying right now), but I think it truly is the thought that counts, and apparently others agree.

Tonight I logged on to find that FallenMessiah had sent me a gift ticket for a car. The last time I cashed in a similar gift ticket, I got a Citroen 2CV, so I wasn't expecting much, and it is indeed the thought that counts. The best car in GT5 by far is the FREE car! So, I cashed it in to find...

A Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3!

So, this thread is a 'thank you' to all the gtplanet users on my friends list (getting pretty full, before you send a request), and to encourage others to commit one random act of GT5 kindness a day, for no reason at all. Gift some museum cards, paint, upgrades, or even cars.

The response may surprise you.

Hoodfield sent me some gold chrome so I sent him the gold and some matte back. I've been meaning to start gifting paint to my frequent remote friends.

I had a NASCAR race of 60 laps a while ago. During the race two jerks started crashing people on purpose(Because they lacked skill, i guess). This lead to me overtaking 1st with 5 or so laps left, cause he was crashed. I even lapped him. I just couldnt take that undeserved victory, so i waited at the finish line on last lap. Hé eventually got his victory. Shortly after he added me on PSN, and gifted me a fully tuned corvette 06.

Being gentle does repay :)

I always took notice of people that were patient and kind on Prologue, because damn there were a LOT of jerks!

I couldn't agree with you more. I remember when I first opened my trading thread, I wasn't getting as many offers as I had hoped for. Gave one F2007 for free and all that changed as now I have trades booked till April 12 :D
I do believe that good deeds always have a way of repaying you in one way or the other. Now in order to give back to the community I give paint for free everyday and also a free car on every Friday :)

I saw on my friends list, one of my old buddies I used to play R6V2 with from the UK. He is just an A spec 15 so I sent him a a Maxed out RM'd ZR1 just as a nice gesture. I hope he enjoys it.

Spent 4 days posting in the marketplace for a trade to get an F1 machine....finally someone who had been gifted a car for free paid it forward by gifting me an F2007 without even a trade. Of course that was minutes after getting a the 2010 car trade :D Rags or riches :)

Oh yeah, almost forgot , also was on the receiving end of paying forward a second time...got either the F1 GTR or CLK LM, so if I can help someone I do it.

Thank you sir for that F2007.

I gave a friend of mine the Tom's Castrol Supra (P) and a GTPlanet member a Nascar that he needed.

I posted a thread on this (the following story) a while ago, but I'll repeat it here.

Ages ago I posted my PSN on a car enthusiast forum (Pistonheads.com) in a thread for new players looking for people to play Call of Duty with. Someone called flat_steve added me.

Years later, I found the RX-7 RS-R in GT5, and googled it to find out what's so special about it. I found a thread on a forum called turbo... something.com, someone was selling his beautiful, pristine condition RS-R, he said his girlfriend had just had a baby so he needed something more practical, and as much as he loved the car he HAD to get rid of it. The user who posted the advert was called flat_steve, and it was posted in 2005.

I sent the guy who added me a message asking if he sold an RX-7 RS-R in 2005, he said he had and he was indeed the same flat_steve, so I bought the car, rebuilt the engine and straightened the chassis, then sent it to him when he got GT5 for christmas.

I also sent Scaramanga (not sure if that's his GTP name) an E-Type Jaguar because he wanted one but didn't have anything I wanted, I got an F430 as a gift and sent that to someone (can't remember who), who sent me 6 mattes and silver chrome as a thank you.

I would also like to thank all of my 45 GT5 friends so far. When I lost my game save a month ago or so, you helped me out by sending me free cars, sharing your best cars, and racing my Bobs online. It is now my turn to help out anyone who needs a car or who needs me to race their Bobs online, and this is what i've been doing with pleasure for the past few weeks.
Very special thanks to xxaidstarxx, G36E, Themartlab, buziii, sixminutemiles (bliiren2k3), Angel82q and xStrathyx.

I'm giving away free cars to people from GTP.
I gave many good cars to PSN friends who just got GT5.
Overall I've given away about 10mil worth of cars so far.

I honestly never got anything back as a sign of goodwill from anyone really. Just a simple 'thank you' or 'thanks' is enough.

I've given away free Ferrari F1s, X2010s, and LMPs before to many needy people and generally good guys. Just want to lend a hand, and like doing it.

I recently posted here because I lost my first chrome paint due to a saving issue. And promptly got offers various people to send me some :) Was very kind, and now I have ma shiny cars :D

What goes around, comes around.
Nice to see that this principle also applies to giving in games :)

I use the same principle in real life -giving / helping without expecting something in return from the one I help. And just like people describe here, it usually brings back much more than I could have asked for. It's a nice way to live your life.

Last night a fellow GTP person asked me if the could borrow a car... I said sure... A little while later he asked if I could share a NASCAR and i said sure.. I had forgotten that I had gotten rid of all of mine. So I just him him a new one! Lol

Sent few cars to a friend on my list who lost his savegame to help him getting back on his feet. Lend few cars too and sent a 76 GTi to someone who search this one for a while, without asking something in return.

Who is he, I will send him some too!

I received a gift today as a thank you for using their bobs and I immediately gifted back as a thank you in return and continued to thank the rest of my friends that have consistently used my bobs.

I also lost my gave save a couple months back due to a power failure during saving and a bunch of friends sent me roughly 50cars over two weeks or so and I've been trying to return the favor since.

It's v-fal, but i think he's good now, it's been a few weeks ago now.

Thanks again themartlab for your precious help ! I'm doing pretty good now, I only have to win the NASCAR Championship to get back to where I was in A-Spec, and yesterday, I posted on this forum to borrow one for the week-end... but when I got back home, I had a friend request from Indy Racerfan informing me that he had 3 NASCARS and that one of them was for me. Thanks again so much Indy Racerfan ! I'm overwhelmed by how generous people are on this forum, and this is great for everyone.

During valentine's day, I sent a red GT-R (ordinary one though :\) to a friend that added me after we raced online. His PSN is jollyfellow. I don't know though if I sent another one also to TakumiFuji01 after our trade.

Thank you, neema_t, for the gt-r! Glad to see someone notices who's racing their bobs, and I'll keep it up!

no prob v-fal, had to pay it forward after gotta gofast helped me out with the lambo- diablo, trying to get him turned on to gtp.
