Yep, you heard me right:

All because of the the idea that they want to put the unlocked frame rate on PC and also improve the visuals...what, the, fork...

Mean while the console releases remain the same haha.

What an absolute joke, so they are delaying the PC release for up to what, 6-7 months just to unlock frame rate and have better visuals? I didn't release April fools came early this year.

What a terrible decision to make, so much for EA/Ghost giving any toss or care about the PC user base, I couldn't quite believe what I was reading on the reasons behind it...Spring 2016...not a month, not 2 months, SPRING 2016.

Well for me this is it, that's the final curtain. This attitude towards development is ridiculous and just proves they never had the PC version in sights as being independant at all. They must really of messed something up.

For me I hope it does aweful and the PC version gets cancelled now, typical EA, and the golden poop award goes to them once again.

That's my opinion any way lol, thoughts from the community?

That's what they get for tying the physics to the framerate.

Yeah, I was on the fence, now it's no buy from me potentially

It boggles my mind, that in nearly 2016, developers still design games this way...this was like, one of the first things as a indie dev, i learnt NOT to do, ever. It's a cheap and easy way to fart out a PC port without much more, but the outcry against 30fps has lead to this catch 22, "oh we'll fix it for pc and make pc prettier too buttttt you'll have to wait up to 7 months for it lololol"

Oh well, I've got Forza, and possibly the next Horizon game will **** all over NFS as a "customization + car culture franchise".

Guys, BlackPanthaa has just uploaded a video about this, he says that the delay is to unlock the framerate.

The game will also get all the content added to the PS4 and XBOX ONE versions on the PC version at launch.
EDIT: Added the video.
EDIT 2: Sorry guys, I didn't fully read the original post. Should I edit out all of what I've posted?

Yeah you may as well edit it out.

As I originally stated it's a terrible excuse. Terrible reason. Terrible everything.

7 months...is just, lol. I love how BlackPantha doesn't care at all really.

This whole "we'll include everything in the PC release that releases for consoles" is more EA bollocks, wherever they wanna charge, they'll charge...

Strangely I was actually gonna pick this up on my X1 eventually or get it super cheap via cd key but not anymore...never again.

All hope rests on the potential for a brand new IP to come along and beat the hell out of NFS in terms of customization.

Done.

Even though I will buy NFS on ps4 rather than PC, I totally feel bad about PC players not getting NFS until Spring 2016...what a total shame..:(

Hopefully they don't delay it even further or It's gonna be like GTA V with PC version getting too many delays until it got released on April 2015...🤬

I'm assuming its more than just unlocking frame rates and improved visuals. *I'm going to predict that the PC Port of NFS 2015 is going to look too good on PC with the improvements*. Need For Speed Rivals on the PC was bad from what I heard. Although i'm not sure if they ever fixed the game for PC.

I honestly think they are making the right decision on delaying the PC Port. Since both Rivals and NFS 2015 are both made by Ghost Games, I think they are trying to learn from their mistakes with the PC Port for Rivals so that NFS 2015 doesn't become garbage on PC. I hope with the extended time on working on the PC port, NFS 2015 doesn't end up like Rivals on PC.

This was a wise move. It shouldn't have happened in the first place, but props to EA to take the initiative and effort to release a proper PC port.

I knew the silence on higher frame rates was a bit fishy. This is why.

Looking at the disastrous Arkham Knight PC port, this have gave a huge wake-up call for all developers to properly make a PC as the ultimate version.

C'mon OP, tone down the pessimistics a bit. You weren't really gonna buy the game in the first place from the posts you've made before right? Why would the delay bother you? We got Fallout 4, Forza 6, Uncharted 4, Star Wars Battlefront to sink the hours in until this comes out.

I'm okay with this, any extra time needed to polish and improve a game I'm perfectly okay for, having unlocked frame rate, better graphics. sure go for it. its only a few more months for me. I'll be playing wild run until then anyways. Makes things easy on me.

7 months is a U-TURN. You have any idea what it's like in game development? People who thought they could take there holidays, now need to work a furth 6 months on the PC version which is aweful, I feel sorry for them. This is bad design, bad planning, poor time management and worse of all, sucks ass to be the people who have to redesign the engine to support it.

It's less about pessimistics, and not really about whether or not I was going to buy it...but the state of this franchise, the developers, the publisher. It's a disservice to many partys. That is my problem. EA can't do PC. Period. Don't get me started on Star Wars: Battlefrontless and the amount of contentless ideasls behind that.

How does this affect you really? X1 version isn't going to be delayed and the cheap cd key will still come, and even then you'll get a way better version of the game.

They were still going to be there to work on DLC and bug fixes. When a game is shipped work is far from done, and anyways they're gonna be paid.

Sure, it shows they weren't planning on the unlocked frames, which indeed is bad planning, but it also shows they listen to the community.

We get it, you hate EA, you hate NFS and everything they stand for. No need to shove it on our faces everytime.

Honestly this game as it is this late in development looks to be a recycle bin classic, at least it wont look as bad as the console does.

How would you rather have it? PC version being released in December 2015 locked to 30FPS, unable to unlock it and probably full of bugs or wait til 2016 for them to unlock the frame rate and fix most of the bugs to make it a decent PC port?

To be fair, it's pretty shocking that they were even considering releasing it at a locked 30FPS on PC, especially after what happened with Rivals.
Like you said though, at least this gives the devs more time to (hopefully) fix most of the bugs and spend more time optimising the game

Yeah, this is a good outcome of a very very bad situation. Once again they were giving 0 🤬 about the PC version and because the console version has the physics tied to the frame rate it means basically making a whole new game for PC to undo that and give us a completely unlocked frame rate. No matter how long it takes this is still better than a 30fps lock.

Release the game on the same date as the consoles with 30 FPS.
But continue to work on the frame rate update and drop a patch in Spring 2016 to fix it, even if they have to re work completely on the game engine and take a month or two longer. At least we would have something to play while we wait.

Many people don't care and just want to play the game, but instead we'll have to wait another 6 months while the console players will be playing it all along.

It seems to be a wise decision based on all the complaining that people have been doing. Personally I'll be getting it on console, not PC, so I'm not worried about it but PC users really can't complain now; you got what you wanted and it's going to take some time to get it working correctly. You'll just have to ride it out.

Despite the delay we should be thankful they are going to release a decent PC port.

You may be disgruntled at the delay now gentlemen, but once you are playing this game in 60 FPS, in 4K resolution on a triple monitor set-up you will find all was worth the wait. Consoles and their crap hardware hold back the industry, we must credit EA for embracing the future with a specially tailored PC version. Rockstar did it, and it was awesome.
