PC2 Tactile Effects Missing?PS4

PC1 had class leading tactile effects for tactile transducers / Buttkickers and Bass Shakers etc. The low frequency effects covered transmission thumps with each gear change, engine vibration, kerb strikes and rumble strips etc. I am not getting any tactile effects at all from PC2.

I then tried the same cars and tracks on PC1and hey presto - superb tactile effects again. I tried Willow Springs International and Brands Hatch GP with the BMW 2002 SW, Mercedes Benz 6.8 AMG, Ford Escort RS1600 (Racing) Mercedes Sauber C9, Chevrolet Corvette C7R and Cadillac GT3. These cars were chosen because they have strong engine vibration and / or transmission thump effects in PC1.

I would be very interested to know if other PS4 users who have Buttkicker / Bass Shaker systems also have a lack of tactile effects from PC2. The lack of any effects in PC2 totally kills the immersion for me having got used to the class leading effects in PC1. I remember asking @IanBell about tactile effects a while back and got the impression that SMS were aiming for them to be as good as in PC1.

I have also noticed a big reduction in audio volume - for PC2 I am having to turn the volume on my sound system up by around 50% to get the same loudness.

Have you done any testing with your system @Scaff ?

I've noticed it's a lot quieter this time around for sure, but having said that, I always felt pCARS1 was far too loud compared to other games. We just can't win, eh?

Note - I am not worried about the sound level because this can be adjusted by turning up or down your audio system. At the moment there appears to be a serious problem with a complete lack of ultra low frequency sound effects i.e. a complete lack of tactile effects - gear change thumps, engine vibration, rumble strips etc. My Buttkicker system is working perfectly on PC1, but I get no effects at all from PC2.

Does this depend on UDP functionality?

Sorry I don't know what this means. I am using a PS4 Pro. The audio track on PC1 contained special ultra low frequency effects for Buttkickers / Bass Shakers, but these effects appear to be missing from PC2.

PC2 is running at a much higher dynamic range, which is fine with my AV system

Had to turn the receiver up to get them, but the tactile is still all good for me.

Thanks for prompt reply @Scaff - I know that your AV system is higher end than mine. I have turned my tactile system up to maximum, but the effects are now so quiet that I am not getting any rumble in my seat. I will need to experiment with boosting the signal somehow via a pre-amp or try a different amplifier. A shame that SMS have turned the effects down to be so quite that my setup which worked perfectly on PC1 now doesn't produce any effect at all!

Hi can I ask what settings you have on your ButtKicker/Shaker amp (filter cutoffs) and any specific cars the effect seems to be missing in, I'll check the frequency response from the PS4.

The output level of the game has to conform to loudness measurements (ITU-R BS.1770-3) that Sony now enforce, this it to ensure all games, films, etc. output a consistent volume level.

Also how is it wired up (are you taking a full spectrum stereo input or does it take the LFE output channel only), etc.
