I'm looking to gauge interest in a PC league here on GTP for Project CARS.
My desire is to run a two-class series that will try to mimic the Super GT series in Japan as best we can. The GT500 class will use the '12 Mercedes AMG C-Klasse Coupe DTM and the GT300 class will utilize all of the GT3 cars.
As for races, we'd be looking at running an 8 round championship. 7 of the 8 rounds would be run in a double-header sprint race format, with with each race night featuring two races that run approximately 20 minutes each. The other round will be an endurance round that will last somewhere in the neighborhood of an hour. Something else I'd also like to incorporate is two "all-star" rounds throughout the season that will be just for fun races and feature cars that are not part of our championship as a way to mix it up from time to time by running something completely different or using unlikely combinations. The cars and tracks of these "all-star" events will be voted on by the league members.
We will compete for driver and team championships. Drivers will be able to pair up into teams of two cars if they so wish (although you certainly wont have to). Teams will need to be in the same class.
Once we get to release and I have my hands on the game I'll post more info on other things like time/weather, setups, aids, liveries, points, track schedule, qualifying, etc.
As for day and time that this league will take place... that is TBD. It will definitely be on the weekend, but as for a time of day, I first want to see where the majority of people are from and we'll go from there.
Again, this thread is mainly to gauge interest in this league idea. You can post signup stating you're interested, what country you're living in and if you want, which class you're interested in (not an official class/car signup, I just want to see how many are interested in each class right now). Nothing beyond that is required at this time. If we get enough interest, when the game drops I'll get a more official league thread and informative post going and we'll look at some preseason test races.
