PD needs to release the alternative layouts of available circuits in GT7

It makes no sense for PD to deprive users of racing on alternate circuit layouts that are already licensed in the game.

The PD needed to release access:

Suzuka
  • West Suzuka
La Sarthe
  • Bugatti Circuit
Nurburgring
  • Nurburgring Original (No Arena + No NGK Chicane + Veedol Chicane)
  • Sprint Circuit (East track)
  • Mullenbach circuit (West track)
Barcelona
  • Original track (Parabolic, Europcar bend)
  • Club circuit (West track)
  • National circuit (East track)

In other competitive market games, we see these layouts available. I really thought that GT7 would make the rest of the tracks available.

I agree about Suzuka, Barcelona and the small Nurb tracks. Everything is in place, with little effort they would have surpassed the 100 variations at launch.
Bugatti circuit has areas though that are not designed for La Sarthe, so it would need some time to implement.
Old Nurb is a whole different story though since they would need to create different environment/assets at where the Mercedes Grandstand and arena currently are. Not saying that it is difficult or not, I cannot know this.
We may see them post launch though (except Old Nurb, I am betting that we never see this).

But just a clarification. I think I wasn't clear. When I said "Nurburgring Original", I didn't mean the Sudschleife. I am referring to the Nurburgring Circuit GP layout, which opened in 1984 and used until 1995, which is without the Mercedes Arena and without the closed chicane of NGK. This layout still exists and is used in the Nurburgring 24 hrs.

About the Sudschleife, I know it's practically impossible. I have a feeling Kaz doesn't like reviving old tracks.

What about the old Monza-Layout with the Oval and the banked curves...? At least part of it is in there in Scapes

And I would love the old Fuji Layout with the only drop-in banked curve there was, but that's just dreaming around, that's never gonna happen in GT

I was referring also to the F1 circuit up to 2001 when they added the arena. But I am getting the misunderstanding now. When I was talking about the old circuit I meant exactly the pre-2002 one, and the first chicane does not exist anymore. The first turn of 24hour circuit is not the same. But of course they can create a new circuit using whatever the 24hour race uses, yes.

I would like to see the Oval as well. I have not played it in any game. Monza has also the short course turning right just after the start and joining before ascari, but it is boring!

Nostalgia from GT4 for Fuji! The old layouts had more flow than this stupid final sector of the new Tilkedrome. I agree, we will not see them most probably.

But the older Layout with the banked curve was not in GT4 only the old GP Layout...

Such a bizarre decision to leave out the Nurburgring, Barcelona and Fuji layouts. All of the track required is there, they just have to move the barriers and code the track limits.
That said, I don't think I've ever driven the old Nurburgring GP course as shown in @BrunusCL82's post above. As part of the the 24H course, yes. But not as a standalone track.

They have the old verison of Monza with the oval and high bank curves in Project Cars 2 in case you do want to try it out

I was talking about the Fuji layout until 1975, as seen in the first 2 minutes of this video
That hasn't been in any GT game though.

The user you quoted specifically cited the "old layouts" from GT4 - which are Fuji 80s and Fuji 90s.

It seems from Kaz recent blog that the way it was phrased 'course layouts' but didn't refer to 'location', that we might only be seeing variations to the track that are currently in the game.
So maybe we would finally be seeing those missing variations.

I misunderstood him though. I thought he was refering to the 80s track, I never knew that type of Fuji existed in the past!

It was also originally stated as "tracks":

Yeah, I kept the receipts :D

Wonder if the reason these alternate layouts are missing has something to do with the way some of the contracts between Pd & the track owners are written up that each course layout cost additional fees and PD might not want to incur the cost & PD might not feel the layout isn't popular.

The amount of work to add these alternate layouts, compared to adding new tracks would seem to minimal, since the layout already exist, barriers would need to be removed or moved & new AI lines added.

A lot of the missing layouts would be ideal for the lower class cars.

There's also the short version of Tsukuba too, that Forza uses. But yeah, i really wish they'd include these track variations too, especially for places like Tsukuba where its already modeled (they just need to remove the wall).
