i started playing with manual just a week ago and i can see now how easier is to ocntrol oversteer on fr/mr cars...this makes them a lot faster...now i was wondering if there's something i must know about shifting in gt2(best rpm to shift or when shifting up is no good like when facing hills, dunno...) and if manual shift can help in license test, since i only have all golds in b class.. thx everyone!

p.s.:i found out that xj220 kicks ass!:scared:

To make it easy, check out your power graphs (as you're tuning your car) the area where peak power lies usually represents the best area to keep your revs. Usually, you'll be shifting somewhat after the peak power area, although this varies from car to car.

There's so many little things to learn, I actually don't have time to get into it at the moment. Search. There's some really good threads here in GT2 about manual shifting that go into alot more detail.

According to Scaff's Tuning Guide, the best shift point is 99% always at the redline, because even if the power drops before the redline, you'll always have more power in the current gear than in the gear you're shifting into (or something like that, don't quote me on this). For some cars though, like the American Muscles, the power drops way too much after a certain RPM that it's best to shift early. How early? Like Parnelli said, check the power curve to see at which RPM peak power is produced. Ideally you want to shift so that when the RPM drops after shifting, you'll be right before the peak RPM.

When I drive though, I always shift at the redline (sometimes I even rev up to fuel cut-out if the car is high powered and naturally aspirated like the NSX). Makes life simpler.
