Perfect tuning for VIPER GTS '02 & GTS R Concept '00

Can someone help me to tune the:

Dodge Viper GTS '02
Dodge Viper GTS R Concept '00

I know nothing about tuning and these 2 cars are my fav and I use them alot. The ACR handles great and the Oreca is flawless but I want to some how perfect the above 2x cars. They are maxed out, Ive got all the upgrades but they struggle to turn. Is there a way I can improve it and get better performance out of them?

BUMP! on the Dodge Viper GTS R Concept '00.

Not only does this car handle the worst of any car I own the breaking in a straight line Is also the worst I have ever experienced, this car simply refuses to break or turn in.

I know very little about cars IRL but the sensation I get when driving this car is that the wheels are not in full contact with the road. Its hard to fully explain how off this car feels unless I can actually let someone drive it.

With my limited knowledge I have come to the conclusion that this cars main problems are horrendous understeer and non-existent braking.

I am throwing out a challenge (aka baiting response to my request lol) too any tuning garage/expert who feels they can at least turn this car into a semi-decent racer.

Feels a shame to see all that BHP when fully tuned go to waste.

double post, first post fail :(

BTW... I have noticed this car handles and brakes alot better with TCS off. I had all aids off bar ABS 1 and TCS 5 before I tried TCS off.

Still if anyone fancies doing a tune for this car I would be grateful.

works pretty good:

downforce 40

height -25/-19

spring 14.7/17.9

damper ext 5/5

damper comp 4/4

RB 5/3

camber 2.3/2.0

toe .08/-.14

Again, this is for the Viper GTS R Concept '00 at Idianapolis, but hey, I think that similar principles apply for all vipers. With full mods I'm pushing 986 hp/1300 kg and finally got a few :48 laps, which is pretty good for a standard non-race car. Let me know if that helps.

My '02 Viper GTS is my favorite car now that I have a great setup for it. It's all in the suspension, wheel alinment, LSD, brake controller settings, and rear wing downforce. All of which I will be giving you. Mine is currently pumping out 992 HP at 5900 RPM and 977 ft-lb of torque at 4400 RPM max tuned. The car is still a bit of and handful if your not easy on the throttle cause of it's insane power and torque, but handling wise it is very good and it will out run almost anything on the road. Ride hight is -15 front and rear, Spring rate is 14.3 front, 12.3 rear. Dampers(extension) is 6 front and rear (compression) 8 front and 7 rear {set high in front to eleminate dive while braking from high speed}. Anti-roll bars are set to 3 front and 4 rear. Now for wheel alinment. Camber is 2.5 front, 0.5 rear. Toe is 0.0 front and 0.15 rear. LSD initial torque is 5, Acceleration sensitivity is 45 and braking sensitivity is 30. I have the brake controller set for 4 front and rear. Downforce is 20 in the rear, 0 up front as you can not add any downforce to the front. Transmission top speed is at 273 MPH and with a draft it will do that speed. without a draft it climbs to 237 MPH. I do not use any aids like TCS on this Viper or any of my cars for that matter. Only one is ABS and I have that set to 4, and also my controller steering sensitiviy is 4. Hope this helps.

I honestly find the GTS' to be alot easier then the SRT10's

Either way just raise the SR a few notches, set ext to 6 and comp to 7 front and rear, arb to 5 and lower it a bit if you want. good to go.

Mmm, sounds tastily understeery.

Lol what makes you say that? It already has the proper weight distribution and spring rates, the front is harder then the rear and tightening it all up will only make things better.

I also can take the final corner on High Speed Ring at 120 MPH in all four vipers and none of them understeer.

On what tires exactly? I tend to run HSR in reverse but my "fast" cars on S3s (535PP range) tend to never drop below 120mph going through it.

As for it having proper weight distribution and spring rates... Ehhh, the front isn't quite stiff enough if I'm honest. The Viper is a very large car and absolutely loves a lot of front spring rate... And a bit higher rear anti-roll vs front.

I didnt say anything about spring rates specifically but my vipers are all running at 14 front and 11 rear right now with 6/7 ext/comp and 5/5 ARB.

I dont like high rear anti roll as it makes the back end slide out easier and makes the car alot more snappy when it catches.

And I run 120 MPH as well with all of my "fast" cars as Im sure we mean the same thing when we say that but I use R3's but from my experience you can take corners at the same speeds on S3's as I run around 120 MPH on those as well.

Fastest car through that corner for me is the S2K at 125+

Oversteer is, and always will be preferable to understeer.

The team oreca is already a race car so no.

If you want it to handle better just tune it a tiny bit anyways as it is probably very good handling to start with.
