In what capacity?
Reinstating Rose will raise a lot of eyebrows.
He was caught doing something very wrong, and then he was punished. What message would be sent to future athletes if he gets reinstated/has his lifetime ban lifted?

Don't bet on baseball or you'll be suspended for 20 years. And you'll never make it to the hall of fame.

The hall of fame consits of the games best players right, so then by that definition yes he should be in the hall of fame, many well players in many sports these days have bad "reps" with drugs, assult and so on, does that mean they wont be able to attend their games hall of fame?

The only reason that there is a question about it is because Pete Rose bet on baseball and he may have made his team lose so that he would get more money.

Well, these people are from around the world and most of them don't care much for american sports.
Amazing LSU....every second thread is offensive to some group or person in here. Now that's an American sport that you play well.:D

I say don't let him in now. He's only admittted to it to make a few bucks right now and his book is released right before Hall Of Fame votes are cast?

I was hoping they would just let him in before his book was released. Now I hope he's banned for the rest of his life.

What a fool.

Yup. He knew it was wrong, even if he didn't actually throw any games.

It's not the Baseball Commisioner's job to decide whther he's guilty or innocent or if he has "suffered" enough or seen the light or whatever.

It's the Baseball Commisioner's job to make sure that there is no suspicious or illegitimate activity in baseball. Period. So Rose can go pound sand.

Never mind the fact that he's arrogant, an idiot, and an asshat. Even Paul McCartney got rid of that stupid haircut in about 1966.
