It's Based on a derivative of the HDi-engined Peugeot RC Diamond concept car unveiled at the 2002 Geneva Show, the RC Cup is the main newcomer to the European circuit-racing scene in 2004. More than just a new series, the RC Cup is an innovative concept. The car itself is an astonishing Diester- HDi-DPF combination, with Diester accounting some 50% of the fuel mixture. The monocoque chassis is made from aluminium while power output of the 2.2 litre, central-rear-transverse located HDi engine is 175bhp. The base engine is also found in versions of Peugeot 807, 607 och 406 Coupé. Combined with a sequential six-speed gearbox (from PSA, Valenciennes) and particle filter, the weight of the car (empty) is 790kg.
