Xbox??? Who is this Xbox??
I have a Peugot 206 rc and it is tuned to the max. But, i still can't beat the AI!!!
Can someone tell me how they beat that factory race series?

R2 or R3 tyres, downforce, nitrous, whatever you can bolt on, drive the wheels off it. If you still get beaten practice more because that's all you can do.

Why is the ai in the 206 cup so hard??

206 Cup

More advice in these threads, but basically you're going to get 200 A-spec point races here, and they're not going to be easy.
"Tuned To The Max" is probably your problem, it's really not necessary, and by continuously relying on adding more power and upgrades to win races you've really not developed your racing skills enough to compete properly when you come across something like this where the AI are competent enough to give you a run for your money and you can't easily overpower them.
You're going to need to be able to run clean laps without bouncing off walls, visiting sandtraps and ramming the AI. Take your 206 into test mode and practice running hotlaps the circuits that're in the Cup races until you can pull off 5 or more clean laps in a row.
As Greycap said, Racing tyres will make a huge, huge difference to your performance.
The easy way out (not that I favour this option) is to use the 206 Rally car, but it'll cost you 1.25 Million Cr to buy that, so it's an expensive solution.

^You say that the 206 Rally Car is an expensive solution (it is really) but at least its reusable in other races. The road cars don't have that much reusability in my opinion anyway. Plus you can still get 200 points with the rally car.

Not at all.

The AI are running the following cars [HP in brackets]:

Peugeot 206 S16 [274],
Peugeot 206 RC [275],
Peugeot 206cc [273]

which're obviously modified, on Sports Soft tyres.

You'll have to have it somewhat tuned to beat the AI, who're also running modified cars, but sometimes, and especially with FF cars, fully tuning them makes them even harder to control because the FF drivetrain struggles to handle the extra power. Racing tyres with their additional grip will make a world of difference.

Better Racing Skills and Lines >>>>>> Extra Power.

Oh, and Peugeot has 2 "E"s ;)
It might help you if you're trying to search for tips on the 206 Cup races. 💡

*Edit*
Went to have a look through my garage to take a look at my Pugs. I used all 3 flavours of road-going 206 to beat the 5 races in this cup, but didn't touch the Rally car. All races were won easily & cleanly for 200 A-spec points each.

I'm no tuning guru, I do what seems to suit me best, but here are the settings I used for each car:

Peugeot 206cc '01 (Bought new):

Racing Exhaust
Sports Racing Chip
Stage 2 turbo
Stage 2 weight reduction
Racing Medium Tyres (R3)

No driving aids.
Nothing else was required, no racing brakes, no wing, no racing transmission or drivetrain modifications and no suspension upgrades. And definitely no NOS. :yuck:
Car shows 222HP on garage screen, and 219HP & 1082kg on the selling screen.
This car was only used for 1 race.

Peugeot 206 RC '03 (Bought new):

Sports Racing Chip
Stage 1 turbo
Stage 1 weight reduction
Racing Medium Tyres (R3)

No driving aids.
Nothing else was required, no exhaust modification, no racing brakes, no wing, no racing transmission or drivetrain modifications and no suspension upgrades. And definitely no NOS. :yuck:
Car shows 229HP on garage screen and 225HP & 1043kg on the selling screen.
This was used for 2 races.

Peugeot 206 S16 '99 (Bought used with 16319.6 miles on):

Stage 3 turbo
Stage 1 weight reduction
Racing Medium Tyres (R3)

No driving aids.
Nothing else was required, no exhaust modification, no chip upgrade, no racing brakes, no wing, no racing transmission or drivetrain modifications and no suspension upgrades. And definitely no NOS. :yuck:
Car shows 265HP on garage screen and 261HP & 1015kg on the selling screen.
This car was used for 2 races. (The first 2 that I tried, and it dominated so badly that I restricted the tuning I did on the 2 newer cars to A) make the racing more exciting and B) to avoid wasting money on unnecessary parts!)

As you can see, none of these cars were anywhere near fully tuned, were easy enough to manage and won races. ;)
Overtuning a car may be your problem. 👎
The racing tyres are the best modification you can make, you should always go for more grip before resorting to bolting on power upgrades, especially on the shorter, twisty tracks that the 206 Cup runs on, as there's very little advantage to having huge straightline speed, but no long straight to use it on! :dopey:

If you can't win in a fully tuned car, it's not the car's fault, but the driver's.
Be patient, each of these races is around 6 - 8 miles in length, and between 3 & 8 laps depending on the track. You don't have to be into first place by the first turn of lap 1. Take smooth lines, set up your overtakes carefully and take advantage of being way, way faster through the turns on grippy tyres, even if you are slower on the straights. Stay on track and drive a quickly and smoothly as possible at all times.
As long as you're in 1st place by the chequered flag, that's all that matters. 👍

Hope this helps.
