Phil Cassidy Misson help

Ok, I just started to do some of Phil Cassidy's missions and I've h"it a brick wall. I am stuck on the mission called Gun Runner". Is anyone this far yet? I can get the weapons and stuff but then i either (a) get ran over by a truck or (b) get killed by gang members. none of the guides i've looked at are any help. I hate looking at guides online unless im absolutely stumped because it can ruin a game. Any help from anyone who is this far would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Um, you could always use the rocket launcher to destroy two of the trucks, then pick up their weapons, then you destroy the two other trucks by shooting them the by the drive-by method. The hummer isn't too bad to use, either, and if you lose the first hummer, there's a second one in the hanger next to Phil's trailer.

I hit the trucks, did drive-bys on the trucks to blow tires and kill the gunner, then I picked up the weapons and drove around the trucks shooting until they lit up. I got and new vehicle and did the same for the second pair.

I used the minigun to destroy the trucks themselves but when i got out to pick the last weapon up i always die by getting ran over or the gang that chases you shoots me. if it werent for the gang on those mopeds i would have passed the mission already.

thanx rjensen11, your idea for using the rocket launcher worked. now if only i could find the last couple hidden packages.

not that it helps, but i used the hunter, eleiminated them all and when and picked upi the guns.

If anybody else needs some help, try to stay by spray shops as much as you can, and shoot down the moped dudes as soon as they come. once you get a few of them, more'll start trickling in, but they won't be as much of a nusance.

I'm pretty much stuck in VC now. I'm unable to progress any further in the plot missions, but I've only just finished the biker ones I think.

Do I have to purchase everything in town to continue?

no, you dont have to purchase everything. just certain places that advance the plot of the game like the malibu, printworks, and the film studio.

i'm sorry to say that u are wrong to get 100% done u have to buy everything this means all the houses and all the shops

but yes u are right about buying some that just advance the plot

Yeah, i got all hidden packages, the cheats can screw up your game.

just to let you know, you dont have to buy mailbu to complete the final mission (Keep your friends close), just the printshop.

Yes, the printshop did it. I did the final mission, which really makes VC seem much shorter than GTA3.

Oh well...there is still plenty left to do. I just bought the Malibu and am getting my butt kicked on the No Escape? mission.

Is no escape where you break the guy out of the cop place?

Yeah, that's the one. If you go into the locker room on your way in and get a police uniform, things go much smoother...

Yeah, but I'm getting killed/busted once I get outside. Or, I'll run from a burning car, and the guy won't.

get a heavy duty car, like a hermes or the cuban hermes, something with strength and speed.

I think i used a cuban hermes the time i passed it, but i also wasted ALOT of the cops outside with the colt, that way i had a clear shot to the car and i wasnt getting busted waiting for him to get in.

I just got the banshee, ran around the police station for about 2 minutes trying to find that damn key, then broke the guy out. After we got into the banshee, I just drove to the pay 'n spray

Heh, for that No Escape mission, I made it by the skin of my teeth. My car set on fire just as I was pulling into the Pay'n Spray. I used an infernus in hope that I could outrun them...obviously it barely worked.

Out by the airport, in a pool behind a building. Not sure exactly where, but you have to drive under the building.
