Photomode. Provide a mechanism to directly transfer photos to my computer.

I'd like to be able to directly transfer photos individually or in batches from GT to my Mac (or PC) over my LAN.

I want to eliminate most of the steps in the current multi step process, which is typically:-

1. Save from GT to the XMB
2. Exit GT
3. Plug in a USB drive to the Playstation
4. Copy the photos to the USB drive
5. Unplug the USB drive
6. Plug the USB drive into the Mac
7. Copy the photos to the Mac
8. Restart GT to get back to where I was

The effect of this change would be to improve photographer productivity.

How about hooking GT6 to my dropbox account, and upon every save, they automatically go "to the cloud". This would be for pictures and replays.

I was also thinking of the ability to save to an external USB drive. Might be easier if not as effective

Bit of a bump, but in GT4 you were able to save photos directly to your USB without exiting the game, or photomode for that matter. I think something like that would be just as good, unless photos can be sent straight to an online server without any compression.

Compare GT6 with the Forza method.

1. Take a photo.
2. Upload to Microsoft server at a throttled rate of about 0.1 MB/sec
3. Since you are only allowed to store one 8.3 megapixel image at a time, then...
4. Go to your computer and download the image (again at about 0.1 MB/sec no matter how fast your internet subscription)
5. Return to your Xbox, go back to step one

The steps 2 to 5 take about ten minutes, so you can't get into any sort of flow

Yeah. I was thinking that. Just make it so you can copy photos to USB directly from within the game. Why did they make it needlessly complicated for later games? Though saving to online would be nice too.

And that's assuming you have a gold account, if you have a silver account you can't transfer photos at all.

I liked this suggestion, I'd love to be able to directly transfer replay videos to pc as well.
