Just voted.
Jacoja, thanks for mentioning my shot, glad you liked it. 👍
Man, I never thought I'd get so many votes because I wasn't that happy with my shot.
Thank you for everyone who voted for it so far.
Here's my go at every duel:
21st Century Cars - TVR&FF's shot is a good one, but the main reason it isn's working is because the wheels ain't moving and that ruins the whole effect which is a shame. Bram's shot, although very simple (almost minimalist) is highly effective with a sweeeet blur, powerful colours and a car with a very natural look, although not very well defined at some small areas.
Phototravel - Snyp's DB9 is a good choice, as well as those rims, but it doesn't seem to be more than a PMC shot really. Also, the angle and composition are a bit uncomfortable. Freddy's RUF shot has beautiful colours and although it seems to have the same cleanup technique he used on the qualifying NSX, it's not as effective on this one, probably due to the lack of work on the hood lines and that darker area around the license plate making the attention draw to the bright hood. Good blurring.
Lights Only - I'm guessing the SLR is Funkshen's shot (almost positive), since he's done this kind of shots before and the cleanup on the Elise is more like LG's style.
The SLR is awesome overall, the curved blur is flawless, the cleanup is great (apart from a few minor jaggies) and I like the tones. It got my vote, despite the fact that it doesn't relate to the theme as well as LG's Elise. It could be even better if the front wheel was a bit turned as if it was turning. LG's Elise is an excellent cleanup job. I really like the idea behind the shot and it's a great car choice. Only thing I don't find perfect with it is that some of the reflections seem a bit polygonal as opposed to smoother lines, and that line on the left of the tail lights could have benn worked a bit, but that's it. The most difficult one to choose out of all.
Late 90's Cars - Alex's shot is just brilliant. The use of GT4 blur fits it like a glove. The car's very clean and the light spots are on the right place and on the exact amount, not overdone. That rumble strip on the left is almost real, great definition and the tone really makes if feel as something solid. Exhaust pipes look great too, subtle but functional.
Minicooper's shot could have put a fight, but the car's just too blurry. Good blur on the road and original car choice, though.
Bling Bling - I'm not sure who's shot is who's on this one. 1st shot is really moody, great tones and really shows the bling on the rims.Great reflections and road blur. Not too sure about the blur on the background and the taxi tagging along...
The Nardo is a bold shot, because of the location. Really nice vivid colours, and a good angle of that car (we usually only see the front around here). Cleanup could be better, there's some jaggies and unclean parts. Also, the tail pipes could have been worked a bit, because they're just looking at you.
Skyline Club - Slipz's shot is really good, he got the shot looking as if in motion in a very subtle way, and it almost looks as the car has bodyroll.
Jaco's shot doesn't seem (as someone said before) to have curved blur whatsoever. It's a single radial zoom blur. Strangely enough, it works decently. But what really stands out in this shot is the amazing car cleanup with minimal reflections and extremely well placed light spots. All of the car's lines seem to have been reworked. Great tones and a moody image.
In The Tunnel - Drift's shot really has some nice colours, and I love the slightly desaturated look of the tunnel's 'outside'. Excellent blur in the tunnel. It would be awesome with the outside of the tunnel not blurred.
Mog's 350Z is really original for the presentation and work on the reflections (although like I already told him I'm not a huge fan of the glow-bright light spots but still I'd like to know how he does it
), the car looks fairly realistic, extremely clean, almost flawless, great blur, although I'm not feeling much for the tarmac nearer the camera appearing to move slower. A shot that's almost B&W, with the right spots of colouring.
American Beauty - Speedster's shot got my vote.
