Tw's entry...dang....

nickanamealguems....Sweet mother of all that is good and holy that is a clean car. I think the blur shouldve been faded a bit more, its too blur then no blur. But wow.
NTX, love the angle, and the general lighting you got goin on.
Tangled Rim vs Swiss Legend...I love it....:D

Sorry about the delay people. And sorry to LDS for not being a tough battle (he knows why).

Vote guys, and read the rules first.

Assuming the pics are in the order of the names, I voted Swiss Cheese & NTX. It's all tied up!

TW had a great entry, but the fact that Swiss transplanted rims make me want to give extra kudos to him for that effort by voting for him, but I'm waiting with that vote a little bit more and think about both entries. Both look really good 👍

Great entry by Lds, but I'm missing a good angle on the car. The Cup Clio looks really great, but from that angle it looks rather squeezed. As Swiss mentioned, watch the flow of blur-non blur 👍

Some great entries this round fellas! I feel terrible for not being able to be a part of it :indiff::cheers:

crap. i screwed up. i clicked on the last photo of the audi, and the check box got ticked.
after i closed the other window and pressed vote, i forgot to un-check the audi box. my bad.

anyways a great poll altogether. with both categories showing great quality entries. the differences and what made me vote were very minor. like on the rx7, the fender line could have been smoother. not exactly an easy task considering the textures and flaws of gt4. i would imagine having a hard time keeping it round or more realistic as possible.
on the gt-r, i think the rims which was the main subject of the theme, was very well detailed and did not have any diffuse glow featured compared to the rx7, so the details
came out a lot better. to sum up the theme, i was expecting more of a minimal approach focusing more on the wheels, but what the heck. why not show the whole car off.

on the second theme, both entries are great as well. the renault is very well editted.
if i didn't look at the names, i would of mistaken it for bram's or moglet's or something.
crisp details and great colours and contrast and balanced lighting won my vote. the blur looks very well placed as well in terms of perspective. the only thing i don't really get about the renault is the half motion blur (the way it was done. it should have continued on to the curb to make it more natural with the background blurred out a bit more to balance it out) and i think it would of been better in horizontal or landscape mode to give it more space and emphasize the wideness of the car. the audi on the other hand, is good too. but the diffuse glow sort of killed the colours on the ground. that would have complimented the white colour of the car very well if the soft focus wasn't there.
composition wise, i think it would of been better if the shot was taken with the light behind the camera, as opposed to shooting against it and with the side of the car in the shadow area. either way, a great effort, specially the way the reflections on the side of the car were editted. the lighting as it is makes for a nice morning mist type of shot. it could of used more white balancing though just to make the colours pop out more and give it more punch. just my thoughts about the entries :D

All in all i think everyone did get a great job. it's probably one of the better polls i have seen here in a long time. well done folks and goodluck!

Tangled Rim
Awesome car/wheel combo there, so it suits the theme really well, but for me the shot lacks any real wow factor. The car has been placed at the center of the screen and the background and foreground have been blurred. It's a clean, simple, center framed image, which is sort of nice but also a bit boring! Also, the car appears to be the only part of the image that is in focus, the rest being blurred which appears odd to my eyes as it's not how a real camera would capture the image.
vs
Swiss Cheese [Got my vote]
A more interesting wheel/car combo here IMO, it's an unusual one that works very well. The car is nicely framed along with the background and the flash of yellow the car provides against the grey background means your eye is constantly drawn to the most important part of the image; the car and the wheels. The car cleanup could have been a bit more precise in places but the photo more than made up for it.

Nicknamealguem [Got my vote]
The first thing that caught my eye here was the colour balance which was spot on for me, the bright yellow car really blending well with the red and white rumble strip. The car has been cleaned exceptionally well, and the blur really adds a nice little something to the image. The only niggle is that the blur stops very suddenly but other than that, it's a stunner!
vs
NTX
This image is a much more mature, grown up, entry than most of the others from this round. The car appears to be 'wafting' along easily with all that power under the bonnet. It reminds me of driving along an empty road of an early morning. The car is also cleaned well and the style of the image suits the car too. The only reason I didn't vote for this one was because the theme was 'V6' and to me, the Clio is a better choice to represent the theme.

Some amazing skills!! I don't even know if I can create something in such high end quality. Very well done guys 👍

I like these rounds so much because the quality standard required.

I went with the RX7 because it has some kind of unusual look, and it's also nicely executed. It comes to my mind the rim enhancement we always see in advetisements that makes the image more spectacular. It impressed me at first time and even I thought they had a cheat or something. Things I could point out... maybe the tarmac noise, something evident.

The Carbon R is very well done too, the carbon textures and reflections are specially challenging. The execution is flawless as always. But I have to agree with Moglet... I think you didn't start with a good PMC, although the car is in a powerful angle.

In the Clio V6 I noticed some details like the sudden blur break, one-gear blur, slightly hue change in the yellow highlights... The overall result is not bad, but NTX made a more basic proposal without noticeable handicaps, and finally decided to vote for it.

Regards.

Well done TW and Nickname. You guys go to the final round.

Swiss (and me ), better luck next time 👍

Well TW, I hope I gave you a good enough battle. Congrats to you and nicknamealguem as well 👍

You hit the nail on the head with what I was trying to do with this entry.
Thanks for the in depth comments from you guys!
 Here's to a great final.

Thanks for the votes guy's, the first time I have made it to the final. :)

I have to agree with you, I am happy with the image but something is lacking. Especially the composition, think I was concentrating too much on focusing on the front wheel that I pretty much centered the car which I never like to do.
Also the blurring is strange, the road around the car looked a lot more sharp in PS. Maybe the jpeg compression screwed that up. :dunce:
Thanks for your detailed comment, it always helps me to make my images better.

Well TW, I hope I gave you a good enough battle. Congrats to you and nicknamealguem as well 👍

Thanks Swiss, and you gave a great battle. I actually thought you might take the win since you shot seemed a lot more appealing than mine. You did a awesome job buddy. 👍
