Photos not showing

I've saved a replay from the Nurburgring and went to photomode; now when I take the picture I'm greeted by a black screen and the GT symbol. My screen isn't frozen, the photo just doesn't show up at all. I have taken photos from replays and the Nurburgring before without a problem. Any solutions? If there is already a thread about this please just send me a link! Thanks.

Some places, on some tracks, at certain times, it will only allow you to take the photo from the pre-select POVs... Could that have been it?
When you snapped the picture, for instance, and the picture was supposed to come up & show it to you to save it... is that when the screen was black?
If so, it could be what I'm describing.
If not, then I'm not sure.

That is exactly it. When the photo was suppose to show I get a black screen with the washed out GT symbol in the top right. Very frustrating because I think this would be one of my best photos.

I don't know why, but I've had this happen on certain areas of tracks.
It's like they don't want you to take some photos for some reason.

Sometimes it happens if you get too close to a flipped up car. Sometimes it's the case if you're clicked on a car that's entering the pit when you go into photomode.
I had it happen most recently while taking photos at night on Toscana.

The last photo in that post ^ - it would only let me take it from exactly that angle only.

Sometimes you can sneak past the problem by clicking on a different car in the replay before entering photomode.... and then "walking" back to the car you actually want to aim at.

I had to click on a different car and "walk" all the way to that car in order to take that photo, because it just wouldn't let me get at it to "walk around" when I clicked on photomode while clicked on that car, as it entered the pit.

It was a replay of a free run I did by myself. I used the Mercedes 300 SL and tried to take the photo on the long straightaway. I really wish there was another car I could click on but there isn't. I have taken plenty of ACR and C63 AMG photos in the same exact spot but all of the sudden the photos won't show.:indiff:

Hmm, that is a problem then.
I've never taken photos from a free-run replay... Was it in the free run replays before that you'd taken photos in that spot?

The only other thing I can suggest trying is entering photomode a second earlier or later in the replay... but then of course the photo wouldn't be the same...
Not sure how else to get around it.
Does it give you a choice to take a pre-selected POV photo? And if so, do you get multiple choices, or just one possible angle choice?

Yes I took the Viper and AMG photos both from a 1 person free run replay. The game lets me choose from 8 preset positions but the photo I'm trying to take isn't in one of them. I walk around the car to the desired spot on the side and take a photo. I just don't get why I can take picutres of other cars the same way and not my 300 SL. I don't think I'll ever get my photo.:indiff: I really appreciate you trying to help me, thanks a ton!

Aim your central focus on the car, set focus, the move shot to the castle but do not adjust focus. Does that work?

Edit: re-read my post. I sound like a fool but it's how I took a photo yesterday.

Oh, yes, I know what he ^ is talking about.
Sometimes that does work... if you move the aim around until you find a point where it lets you.
But in the OP's issue, that would "change the photo" he's looking to get, so it might still not be what he's hoping for.

I don't mean to offend anyone, but...are you sure the camera settings are right?
Try taking a shot with the default settings on another location of the track and see if it works. If it doesn't, then there's something wrong with the track itself.
