Photoshop Flickering (Windows 8)

So I've just bought Photoshop, but the photo continuously flickers while I try and edit photos, meaning that it's practically impossible to do so.

Can anyone help, giving a step by step guide to stopping it for someone completely computer illiterate.

If it's not a fixable problem let me know so I can cancel my subscription.
