I'm working on a car, but when I go to save it, it says, "Could not save because the file is already in use or was left open."

the file ur saving prolly has the same name maybe as a file open in photoshop already or something...i have seen that problem but fixed it....make sure that the only gfile open is the one u wanna save then that should definitely work...but i dont know the problem

I tried that, but it still wouldn't save.
Maybe the .psd file has the same name as a .jpg file that's why it won't save.

Save it in a different location or change it's filetype. Thats what I do. Or delete the other file or change it's name. And make sure the file you have open with that particular name is the ONLY file open with that particular name.

i've had that problem, it means that you have the same file/image in use at the same time.
like say for instant, photoshop stuffs up and you can't close it but you can still work with your computer. you open up another photoshop and try to save your worl but you still have the other image in use.
BTW, I think that is it. If that just happened to happen, try Alt Ctrl Delete and then End Task.
