I just got back from a cruise to Alaska... I took ~3500 pics (15gb of 8mp .jpgs)... These aren't like those idiotic vacation pics of people standing in front of some stupid landmark and smiling (god i hate those pics)... no, they're pictures of the scenery and the wildlife and stuff.

I did a very, very, *very* fast sort and picked out the best 80 or so pics, threw them in PS, ran the auto color/level filters on them and resized them to 800x600. For these pics, the filters actually work very, very well... they removed the haze that came from fog in a lot of the pics and corrected the colors to what they actually were... there are some pics where the water is like electric blue or seafoam green. It was, in fact, that color, as odd as it looks in some of the shots.

Anyhow, the .zip is only 6mb, you can download it here:
http://rapidshare.de/files/4559648/alaska_cruise_pics.zip.html

(since someone couldn't figure out how to operate that site earlier... you scroll down to the bottom of the page. click "free". then wait for your ticket to come up, and at the bottom of the page there will be a download link. click that to download the file.)

Here are a few sample pics:

All of the pics were taken with an Olympus Evolt E300 using either the 14-45 lens (28-90 equivalent) or 40-150 (80-300 equivalent) lens. I can post full resolution versions (recompressed in PS- from the camera they're almost 6mb each) or larger (say 1600x1200) versions of a few pics if anyone wants to use them as desktop wallpaper or whatever.

Cool pics. I would love to go to Alaska, seems like a cool place. So much land, untouched by humans.

"Untouched" is the impression I get too. Looks very exciting for outdoor stuff. Northern Exposure is my favorite TV show of all time(though most of it was filmed in Washington).
