There have been plenty of stories and photos floating around. I figure I should do another thread similar to how the Corrado/Scirocco thread evolved...

...Soooo, what do ya think?

Different..... actually it just gave me a 80's Cadillac Seville flashback

I personally think it would be pretty dumb to actually build the car. Granted, we haven't seen a 4-door convertable since the 1960s, but the idea isn't a dead one. I just think the S-Class is too big for a soft-top, and it really doesn't fit into the Mercedes lineup at all.

But if DCX wants to build a 4-door convertable, they should build the 300C Convertable concept from a while back...

Wasn't CL-class the coupe of S-class? And SL-class the roadster of S-class? Well M-B is wasting money building that piece of crap, it carrries over the S-class styling, made even uglier. Recent products from M-B are starting to make me vomit every day.

I think its a good idea, and could sell if they only do a limited production AMG version. Its like that maybach soft top.

I think they are waiting to see if Rolls-Royce decides to build the 1000EX Convertable to stand alongside the Phantom.

The CL-Class is based on the S-Class, but the SL is, as far as I can tell, its own platform. There's the S/CL platform, and the E/CLS/CLK, and the C/SLK platform. The G-Class should be doing it's own thing, too.

I lost track (and interest) with the R, ML, and GL classes. I could be totally talking out of the wrong orifice, but I think the R and ML are based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the GL is a tall R-class.

Thanks for the clarification :)

Well, good point there on the second paragraph. I've always thought the R-class was built on Pacifica, looks at those two - they're strikingly similar.

Yes! The Pacifica! I totally forgot. It's all coming back to me now. Never liked the Pacifica, either. When you want a cookie, have a cookie. When you want a minivan, get a minivan.

I do not apologize for the off-topicness of my post, because this needs to be said.

That is THE most god-awful, fugliest car ever built. No, fugly doesn't do justice, so let's go with the non-abbreviated term...****ING UGLY. It looks like a limp noodle with AIDS. To call it a piece of **** is to insult actual pieces of fecal matter.

*cooling down*

Sorry, I needed to get that off my chest. One of those....things....is parked around here every day, and it always causes me to dry heave.
