Two things:

1) It's probably a good idea to blur out your license plates.

2) Although we have no particular reason to doubt you, a picture with a card saying "Hello GTP" propped on that intercooler will give people a much greater comfort level that you actually own these cars.

All that being said, the ITR looks like a nice project. How long have you had it?

I know it's part of the regs, but I think Jesterguy proved the S2000 was his a long time ago. I don't think there would be any reason to think the ITR wasn't his. Looks like a great project, can't wait to see the progress.

What's with the big radiator? I don't see a point in having a radiator and piping that big...

Oh Keef... I'm not sure if you're funny or not, but I'm laughing either way!

:odd: that's the smallest turbo I've ever seen.,. but I guess it's good for quick spooling and low down power.:dopey:

Most likely... He probably wants a reason to up the power on the S2k. Having an Integra faster than it would accomplish that.

as requested, a shot of the car and my little piece of paper. I'll try and dig up the one I posted a while back of my s2000:

I haven't had the car for too long now, I bought it from my best friend who put about 4,000 miles on it over the 5 or 6 years he's had it. He has a wife, daughter, work, etc. to worry about and didn't have time to work on it or anything. But I told him he could buy it back whenever he wants to.

thanks, Rue! Good memory, the picture is on here somewhere, just gotta browse my posting history later and find it.

:) are you being serious?

 @ leo. nice car. i bet she runs pretty quick. is the goal to make it faster than the S2K?

Oh it's definitely faster than the S2000. It's got just a base tune on it right now so it's driveable but I need to go and get it completely tuned after I get everything else on it. I'm shooting for a bit over 400hp with it so that should be more than plenty for me. Runs pretty rich at the moment.

Not necessary, and thanks for the courteous and prompt reply!

WOW! That sounds great - what a great deal for you. It looks like a nice project to wrench on. Good luck with it - and keep it safe.

Some Honda guys don't like the idea of a turbo on an engine so well known for it's awesomeness as a high revving NA.

Like me. I respect what you've done, it's your money and car, and I'm sure it's great fun, but all I see in the engine bay is a "ruined" B18.

The car looks so awesome though, but get those wheels on quick and pull the rotas off.

no, I was looking at the WHOLE turbocharger. It looks smaller than T03, and that is among the smallest turbochargers I've seen this far.. then again, one of the biggest ones I've seen was in a 600bhp rallysprint Delta Integrale.. :dunce:

I myself prefer the Rotas! :sly:

You can barely see 2/3 of the intake portion of the turbo in the picture, there's still a good bit under there.

It's not a small turbo.

It's a Honda thing, you wouldn't understand....

:guilty:

We're picky people. I love the naturally aspirated cars with a passion, but there's also something to love about big power turbo B engines. There's a guy rolling around my area with a turbo ITR with nearly 400whp. It's a monster. I don't see how he could afford all the top-notch parts for that thing (like the tubular exhaust manifold) but not be able to get himself some braces.

That is very cool 👍

It looks like a really tidy well set-up car, no corners cut and everything done the right way the first time.

Planning on bolting on some slicks and taking it to the drags to see what it will do? Or will it be a track car?

Nice DC2, can't wait to see it when it's finished. Nice to see other Integra owners on the board! Mine's just a lowly DC4, but I love it all the same ;)

Why would one waste money on such obsolete vehicles? You can get more power for cheaper going domestic. ~Meh~ to each their own. :/

At least you're having fun with 'em, and a car guy is a car guy.

Good luck to ya, bud. 👍

Because not everyone wants a delicious rip-snorting V-8. But I do.

You can pick up a F-Body with the LS1 for cheeeeeep.

I would ask why someone would waste money on such a crappy engine design, like most "powerful" domestics, but it's still each to their own.

Different strokes for different folks. He also has an S2000, so do you really think he's just a power junkie? There's very few domestic car's that will handle better (if any) than an Integra Type R, especially with a nice set of wheels and tires.

EDIT: And I think domestic v8's sound like obese people choking on lard. Reflective of the average person here.

To each his own, I know there are folks out there that are very particular about certain cars, Type R's being one of them. I can't say I completely agree with you (obviously), but then again I'm one of those guys that doesn't mind seeing an LS1 in an RX-7 either, even though I'm a fan of rotaries and think they're ridiculously fun to drive (when they aren't breaking of course :D).

If I'm in the mood for 9,000 RPM N/A fun, I've got the S2000 so it's always there for me. I always expect there to be folks out there to not agree with what is on the car, but I have a smile on my face that is ear to ear when I'm driving so it doesn't really matter. I can see both sides of the story so I know where you're coming from, I can definitely respect the N/A argument.

But yeah, the rotas like I said are just there until I get everything painted, I'm in love with the JDM 16's so I can't wait to get them on. I'm going to put in an order for some tires this week sometime.

That is very cool 👍

Thanks, revheadnz! I might take it to the 1/4 once just to see what it does, more out of curiosity than anything. Same thing with the track, there's one close by me so after I get a little bit of experience on it with another car I'll think about taking the Integra out for a spin. I'm just WAY too inexperienced to risk finishing the car just to put it into a barrier. :nervous: I just want to finish it first and then worry about how I'm going to potentially wreck it :)

Thanks, Thirdeye. Nothing wrong with the DC4's, I like em too! :)

Obsolete is a relative term. I think you're assuming the car is being built as a drag car (which it's not), or to push ridiculously high numbers (which it's not). Even high horsepower domestics are obsolete in given situations. Thank you for the good wishes though, it's going to be a blast when it's finally done! 👍

Even if I may be an idiotic GM/Ford supporter, I can always appreciate the power/handling balance that Honda has managed to get right with so many of their cars. Although I personally wouldn't be playing with turbos and such (I don't find them "necessary"), its still a very nice car nevertheless... "Clean" would be the word I'd generally use to describe it.

Hey, if I could find a halfway decent Integra (ie, not modified or too beat up), I'd highly consider using it to replace my now-defunct Jetta.

*sigh*

Damn Michigan folks for only driving Domestics and Volkswagens...

OK, guys, let's not revive the age-old Corn versus Rice grudge match in this thread. Thanks.
