Time Attack racing is really fun. You just "slam" your car around a track.
Your biggest opponent is the time, (and other racers, racing against the clock...)

I really like these Time Atack cars, huge amount of power, great handling, and very fast.

For those, who don't know the Time Attack Series, taking place on all the racetrack around the world, here's a link:

My Favourite Time Attack Cars are a fully tuned Subaru WRX STi, a black Mitsubishi Lancer Evo RM, and the "Godzilla", a Nissan GT-R R32.

I love to race on the Trial Mountain Circuit, and the Deep Forest Raceway.

What I want to know, is what is your favourite Time Attack car, your track you are racing on, and if you want, post pictures of your car in action. (I'll post some pictures of my Subaru)

So hotlapping, basically.
yes, the only difference is, that other drivers are on the track.

i'm going to open a lobby next friday afternoon, on trial mountain, and on a eifel track.

here's my badass Challenger...
ready to challenge my Challenger?

If we're just talking about "hot lapping" or doing fast laps with other cars on track, then FGT or Ferrari 2007/2010 on Spa or Cote D'Azur (Monaco).

Isn't that considered "racing" if other cars are on the track? From everything that I know and have read, the only difference between hotlapping and time attack are the rules. Its still one car on the track at a time. Don't see how you can go for a fastest lap when you have to worry about other cars on the track. Here is a link I've provided for reference.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_attack

To my understanding, hotlapping, trime trialing, time attacking, were all baisically the same (except for minor rule changes) with the idea of getting your fastest solo lap. You can't really do that if there are other cars on the track. I take part in alot of these events and have never come across one where there is other cars on the track.

it's like the qualifying race if Formular 1...

Well, its not true hotlapping, time trialing, or time attacking then if its a qualifing "race". See the definition of time attacking. There is no other cars on the track. Like I said, all three are baisically the same. What you are talking about is not time attacking if there are other cars on the track or if its like a qualifing race.

One of my favorites is my tuned Caterham7. Great fun on any tight track.

And yeah, Time Attack is a solo run. I've been to several TA events at VIR.

Thanks for the conformation. I didn't think I was going crazy, lol. Been to alot of events myself at MIS.

My Favorite track is Laguna Seca and Lovin' to go around it in a 4WD like an Impreza or GTR

I have been going around Cape Ring South for days now, tuning and hot lapping various cars, a technical track with 2 big esses and 2 hairpins, very fun track for racing, where overtaking are often done by outbraking, slipstreaming or side by side corner exits :D

Check out DeadNutsEvenRacing thread for a race there on Monday night :D any car on SH tire, 1:29 target time.

The s2000 gt turbo around monaco isn't too bad for me, love hearing the sound of that exhaust

Hey guys,
here is a link, why I wrote, that you're not alone on the track.
This is a Time Attack race, on a very tight track , Cadwell Parkhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_weQpYosZs

Key word in your post is "race". I still go back to my post with the Wiki link. It even says in there that Time Attack is just another term for hotlapping. Nowhere in that definition does it say anything about a race or other cars being on the track. After watching that video, I am a little confused. Why is the guy slowing and letting cars pass? Why are other cars doing the same? In Time Trialing, Hotlapping, etc, the idea is to run your fastest lap possible. You can't do that with other cars in your way. Like I said, I have been a part of alot of time trial events and not one of them has been run like whats in the video. What you are asking seems to be different than what people do in this game as far as hotlapping goes. I'm not saying that there is no such event because clearly there is as you have linked a video, I just think it is something different than what people know and do in this game.

the time trials in gt5 are complete different to the Time Attack series. That's why I open lobbies, with these rules, because beeing completely alone on a track is a bit boring... so, basicly, yes, as you said, it is a race. but if your not on a "hot lap", you have to let others pass.

Yes, I understand now. It is different than what I have come to know time trialing as. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
