I know in previous games if you went in too fast you got a penalty where you were held there for a while after the tyres & fuel was done, but I never was able to work out what the maximum entry speed without a penalty was. I'm assuming there are the same or similar penalties in GT Sport. I've never seen it mentioned in the official online manual.

Does anyone actually know what the pit entry speed limit is in GT Sport?

As fast as you can get in there.

I dont think this is simulated. GTS doesn’t simulate driving through a pit lane, as it cuts to an animated sequence.

On the Tokyo Gr.3 race C last week I was well into 6th gear by the time I got to the pit entry. That's 160'ish mph

It kinda does but only in qualifying when you are exiting the pits for the first time i think(the pit entry still cuts to the animation),you can see your car going into auto drive exiting the pits instead of jumping directly out of the pits like it does in races.

No such thing in GTS, just plow in there full throttle until the game takes over :D
Btw, if you have a time penalty and go into pit with this penalty active, do you spend that extra amount of time in pitstop and get out clean, or you go out with the penalty still on?

That's sad to hear, especially as the FIA are involved. I'd expected them to carry this over from GT5/6.

What happens when you're watching a replay & a car pits?

Pit lanes in GTS work like this

Nope, you keep the penalty. Most people slow down before pit entry to get rid of the penalty while coasting into the pit. (Luckily the game ghosts them) Pit lanes with S curve entries like Brand's and Mount Panorama already reduce your penalty for driving into them as fast as you can.

It is possible to get a drive through at some circuits if you cut through the pit entry in certain situations
le mans has a chicane in the pit entry, and if you cut, your car will just drive through the pit lane without stopping
I think it is possible at brands hatch too
Willow springs can reset you onto the main straight if you try to come in from the sand on the left of the final turn
bathurst does the same if you run into the sand before the entry

I think tsukuba if you run into the lane too hot, just spits you out the other side back onto the track instead of going into the pits

And this tells you just how much a rubber stamp the FIA certifcation is.

They could have very well implemented an 80km/h entry say 5 meters before the PC takes over the pit sequence but no... just set the car to ramming speed.

Hell they could have implemented a pit speed limiting button!

In the live event I don't recall anyone making mandatory pit stops so if the FIA was really worried about it then that's one way they got around it.

They did, but they always switch cameras to a different car if the car they followed went into the pits.

Ok sorry. It wasn't made clear enough to me that everyone was under mandatory pit stops. Not commenting on the racers pits or pit strategies didn't help either. Again sorry for the confusion on my part.
