I tried to search before I started this. Didnt find anything.

Online Lobby
La Sarthe 2009 No Chicanes

Did a 5/5 lap with 1 required pit stop.

The guy that won the race flew into the pits and crossed the finish line on pit road on lap 5. He won. No Penalty...

Not exactly what 1 min pit stop means.

This is me complaining and hoping to get this fixed. Now showing people how to cheat.

This has ruined more than a few races for me. I'm surprised this bug isn't mentioned more.

The problem appears to be the location of the finish line on some tracks. You cross the finish line in the pit lane before you reach your pit box. So if you dive into the pits on the last lap, you can cross the finish line in the pit lane and win the race without actually making a pit stop. But the game counts it as a pitstop!!

On tracks where the finish line is after the pit boxes, I've seen cars dive in on the last lap, and although not win the race, their car didn't actually do their stop. Instead they drove past their pit box and crossed the finish line, again saving a big chunk of time.

I think this may have something to do with if the race is already won, the car in the pit lane doesn't make their stop. Either way, if you make your stop on the last lap, it appears you don't actually make a stop. it's broken and needs fixing.

If I host a room with pitstop races, I always remind everyone to make their pit stop before the last lap begins. Of course not everyone complies, or understands.

PD, please fix this.

PS. With all the tyre/fuel/pit options there's so much more that could be done to open up race strategy options. ie. qualifying/starting fuel loads, wider mandatory tyre options (SS/RS) etc..
