.....*NOTE - assists will be forced OFF for this season since the Mercedes has more assists than the other cars in the class.
Quick question about "Assists". What is included in Assists? I usually leave mine at "Realistic" or "Authentic"...whichever.
Is "Traction Control" one of those things also?
I was really hoping to try adjusting that number (usually from the default "10" I use) in future races to see how it goes.

If you could list what are the various Assists I would appreciate it and which of them will be forced OFF.

I think he means Assists will be OFF, as in no TC, SC, or ABS. Just guessing though. . .

All you Silver Arrow guys. . . know what you're signing up for.

Make sure you got the coconuts!! :D:D
[And this @Alex ONeill is why we should run Brands Hatch GP]:lol::lol:

To be fair, I set the car list and track list for the upcoming season. And I have pushed an inquiry to @Alex ONeill, pending response, to swap Brands Hatch to LeMans. I evaluated LeMans, I decided against it cause the disparity between the Ferrari/Merc, and Porsche/Panoz was fairly large. But if Alex is fine with it we will swap Brand Hatch for LeMans, but don't be surprised if the Ferrari's/Merc's walk away.

All assists will be turned off for this upcoming series, this is a BOP choice to bring the Mercedes CLK-LM in line with the others in the class.

This means, No Traction Control, No ABS, and No Stability Control.

I was just joking, I ran with @Alex ONeill last night a little at LeMans before I had to jump off for dinner (don't miss too many meals). I was in the Porsche and it was woeful at LeMans - @SGETI was just playing with me when we restarted the room (Alex was trying to figure out the time progression). I felt like...

He was in the Merc and it was considerably faster through the turns and down the straights than the Porsche. After chow, I loaded up Nurburgring and ran all the cars, and while the Ferrari was "fastest" the CLK just handled the best, to me. I gots some practicing to do!!

I know you were joking, but I know people in the league get tired of certain tracks showing up as well.

The GT3 series is wide open for car and track choice, meaning that if you picked a slow car and a fast guy didn't, it will hurt that much more at a track that suits the fast car. Which then leads to blow back about the season not being fair or balanced for close racing. A series like the GT3 series is designed to place ownership on the participant to do their homework and testing, then choose wisely. The GT3 format is set and will not be changing when we move from season 1 to season 2. The tracks will change and your car choice has to, cause you can't drive the same car in the following season.

However, for the weekly it is a different philosophy, with one-make series it is much easier, no BOP required. But, when we want to have some variety with more than the same car running around the track, we want to promote close racing. This way everyone has someone to battle with during the race. Since BOP isn't a thing and PCars 2 and I have serious trust issues to believe in an honor rule to agree to limitations on fuel, tire choice, boost pressure, etc... I BOP around LR (Lap Record). I know that the average driver in the league is consistently 1.4 - 2.4 seconds a lap slower than the fastest drivers. Thus, I took all the GT1 cars and went track by track looking at the top 3 LR's for each car and recording it. Then looked at which tracks the Ferrari & Merc were within 0.5 sec of each other, and also, where the Panoz, Porsche, and Toyota were within 1.4 - 2.4 seconds of the Ferrari and Merc, AND where the Panoz, Porsche, and Toyota were within 0.5 sec or each other.

LeMans didn't fit that bill, so just know up front at LeMans the Ferrari's and Merc's have a substantial advantage per lap compared to the other cars.

Which lemans? ..historic? If it is, I would challenge anyone if I could run the Porsche 917 can-am.
Did a 2:54 there...and no worries about flipping over. Even at 250mph!.

No, for the GT-1 it would the the modern configuration of the 24hr of LeMans, but we do need to run a race on the historic layout, it is on list for a future series.

Probably will talk @Alex ONeill into a vintage series within the next couple of weekly series.

@HazardLvL4 What's BOP? Balance of power...

I do understand why your doing it - but looking at the last GT3 race at Mugello, there's no way I should have won that race. I was good enough for maybe 4th-6th. It was "mistakes" by other drivers (well, @Stanc03 wasn't necessarily a mistake) that "gifted" me that race. I was nowhere near fast enough. I got my pit strat right but completely forgot to adjust my bar in my rain tires - hence why you were catching me so fast, was really struggling on the wets, whereas on the dry tires I was turning my Qual. lap times (which is what helped me get into 4th by the time we had the yellow).

Anyway, I guess I just haven't been "around" long enough to "get" the complaining part of it. For instance, @bigtimedave kicked my ass at Fuji and Sugo (and I think China...) but I didn't complain at all (and I know that was a one make series) as this was my doing. Whether it be my driving, my choice of car, or like the race at the Glen (my lack of pit knowledge cost me 4th place), I'm just having a blast driving the car and racing with you guys.

Maybe I just saying, don't worrying about the complaining (and not trying to be an A-hole) as it's just like employees, if you're the manager everything is great until it isn't. At that point you can do nothing right. :D

[not sure if that was a rant, or if it even made any coherent sense at all. ]

Yes, BOP is Balance of Power. It is utilized in multi-class racing in real life applications.

No, you haven't been around long enough to see any complaining, and thankfully there hasn't been any in quite some time. However, as league owners @Alex ONeill and I have long memories back to the early days of PITS, when criticism and complaints were far more common.

It is not that I worry about the complaining, I just want everyone to know that there is effort put into car selection and track choice. LR BOP evaluation and testing is the only way we can do it in the confines of PCars 2. We are not willy nilly putting something together and hope it works.

Lastly, your point in regards to mistakes, that is the number 1 thing I see that could be improved for the mid-pack drivers. Typically I have a notebook page with notes for each race with fuel mileage, tire pressures, number of pit stops, and pit stop strategy for each stint. This comes in really handy in @sgohsixthree Enduro Series. Just having the small details addressed before the race can be a position or two when it all comes to the end.

That Bigtimedave is a buster! he was probably showing off, trying to make a really big impression, I don't like him :yuck:

Honestly, I think it is a good challenge as well to force the fast guys into a slower car and still try to win. It forces them to also be more respectful of the slower drivers, "cones", since typically we can be a little aggressive when we are in the same or faster cars.
I'm a cone and proud of it, I never choose the faster car, "I'd rather drive a slow car fast then drive a fast car slow"
Truth be told, I prefer the slow car fast because I can't afford a fast cars slow.:banghead:  I'm not even sure how fast the Panoz Esperante is, it feels stable and it sounds awesome!:gtpflag:

I don't think the Hockenheimring gets raced on that much, it'd be a great track for these Gt1's to stretch their legs?

There's quite a few tracks we've never raced on. Or I've never raced since I've. Been In the league
Never seen Cadwell park
Any of the Dubai tracks
Or the Indy road course
Snetterton
And Texas road course
Or Sonoma

Cadwell is horrible IMO for racing cars, and not good for anything fast, so maybe for like Caterham's or something.

I want to run at Dubai, @Alex ONeill, and I have discussed this. I looked at it for the GT-1 series, but none of the cars balanced up to each other.

We should do Indy Road, but I always forget about it. Honestly haven't driven it since Gran Turismo 4.

I like Snetterton, but we already do a lot of British tracks, and of the bunch, it is probably the second most boring one compared to Silverston.

We have done Texas Road, it was in the BMW M1 series. Not against running it again in a future series.

We have done Sonoma, it was in the GT-4 class series. Not against running it again in a future series.

Also you forgot Raupuna as one we never have raced at, and we have only ran at Zolder, LeMans Bugatti, and Bathurst one time each.

*EDIT - We have never ran at Bannochbrae, Azure (Monaco), Knockhill, Willow Springs, Oschersleben.

As far as the track list for this season, we have only ran Spa once in the GTLM series, BRNO hasn't been in the list for a few seasons now, We have never ran the Nurburgring GP circuit, and I am trying to have @Alex ONeill swap Brands Hatch to 24hr LeMans.

I am not opposed to taking the tracks you listed and running V8 super car at 4 of them for next weekly series. If it was one-make it would be much easier to just pick 4 tracks we have never raced at.

Dam there's a few I forgot lol but you are right about Cadwell its kinda tight and. And knock hill I don't think we can run a full lobby for some strange reason

I don't think I've run any of those tracks... except Bugatti, I've run that in the Ford GTE car a couple of times. I've not played this game much, huh? :dunce:

Before I started running with you guys in the PITS league I think I had about 5-6 hours total of game play. I bet I had more than 5 hours of practice for that GT3 race at Mugello!!:lol: You guys will feel the full force of my suck-ass-ed-ness tonight at the tracks/cars were running. :P
