I've been eager to try making one of these, but I cannot seem to find a way to create them. I was wondering if the GT community could help.
Just search pixelcarart and you'll know what I mean.

You use paint. Find a "base" or a factory car, and edit it as you see fit. There are plenty of tutorials on those sites as well.

Back when I was in the pixel car scene, I used good ol' MS Paint to do my work. Creation is a difficult thing and I'd start by simple modifying existing base cars. I used this database for the cars I edited. Make sure you have a good bearing on how to edit such cars before creating one, because it's a lot harder!

Also, in the database you'll find two kinds of cars if you don't already know them. "Scaled" being the real-life proportions and "Kuru" which are like little cartoon-toy versions.

Ive done those for years...

Use paint or photoshop (NO BRUSH).

Also, pixel cars are dead nowadays.

Some stuff I still got, all mine:

No. Typically an editor would take wheels from a wide selection of them. There are those who create wheels for others to use. Searching them through Google, for example, is a simple task. You will find things like this:

Simply choose your wheel and place it in your car. A rule of the pixel car world is never take credit for what's not yours. In this case, place the name of the creator of the wheels either in the picture of the car, or in the post accompanying it.

I was drawn to PCA several years ago. Still could be today, though I wouldn't do any of it on Paint.

The amount of work put into a custom is great, but often times people came up with shabby mods or tried to make smooth shading which didn't sense to me. The way I see it, if it's going to be "pixel" cars, I'm going to want to see pixel definition. It brings out sharpness, and it lives up to its name. Even gradients can't be high-color gradients. I think if it was originally done on Paint, it should have low-colours.. like 256 colours.

I may try at it in the future. Mostly likely with a '50s or '60s lowrider.

A lot of it is trial and error, just study the way other people do it and you'll come to understand it or, like I said in your other thread, head to pixelcars.com or pixelcarart.com and you'll find a lot more information.

You can find a lot of my old stuff here if you search hard enough too! Though you'll probably have to search "manga cars" as that's what they were known as way back in the day. Many of us started off with the "little gif. cars", whcih were 3/4 view pixel cars which were usually animated, then Manga Cars turned up and crushed that scene. Weekly competitions were held here for a while and they were very popular for a while but most of the crowd moved on to, the now defunct, mangacars.com. Since then the scene has moved a lot which has probably contributed to the gradual decline of "artists".

It's strange that this thread has come up just now, because I've been in contact with a lot of my old friends from the scene this week for the first time in a long time!
