RRoD? no thanks.
Just got back from NYC for the 2 day press conference, so I haven't got the time to write something up for it yet. Here is a picture of the GT5P booth in the Lexus display.

If anyone is in the NY area, the show will be open to the public starting tomorrow at the Javits Center. đź‘Ť

Update: I posted a video in the "Auto News" section.

Stange thing is they RE-amemiya was never listed in the PAL car line up, but more importantly it now has been removed from the US one (from the official press statement), along with the other cars that was not listed in the PAL list.

Hmmmm, very interesting. Maybe all the confusion and chatter about this subject has created a change in plan-will we (all regions) get the 5 cars as part of a download later on? I'd just be surprised at this point if they wouldn't be included later in some way.

I've ordered PAL Prologue and had been getting a little worried about compatibility with NA players. The more similar the versions are worldwide, the better-but I'd still like those cars.

I was there for the press reveal Wednesday and I had no idea that was setup... I was too busy drolling over the Skyline. Bummer I missed that...

Mother F#$#KER!! I went into the city today too, and otherwise had a great time. Probably one of the best NYIAS's I've ever been too, and it wasn't even that crowded. Saw the GT-R, and sat in a ton of cars. Even talked to some absurdly wealthy 15 year old who's family owns Manhattan Motorcars who let me sit in the Lotus Elise out front when I told him I was interested in buying one (which I am..hopefully I can pick one of those buggers up within a year or so).

But those EDIT at the Prologue setup in the Lexus booth refused to just admit that the ****ing display wasn't opened, and kept on bumping up the opening time by a half hour every single time, and the moron mongoloid with the flashy security jacket who didn't know which was was up just kept on saying they'll open up when the time says. I gave up checking with them when, after the clock reached the 4th opening time, they bumped the opening time up 3 more hours into the future. I don't care if they couldn't run it today, but why lie to me, and why waste my time? What is possibly in it for them? Why can't they just say they weren't going to run it?...and how hard is it to run that display anyway?

It's not a big deal that I couldn't play Prologue, I was just so pissed at the way they handled it and took advantage of me and my time... but then again I'm grumpy and constantly depressed.

But other than that, was a sweet show this year.

I was there Thursday, and it was open. The thing is not everything is set up before the public events as there are cars still rolling in as I left at the end of the press day event, like this Audi V12 TDI R8 which happened to park on the street near Javits Center.

I didn't see the R8 V12 inside, was it on display?

(And something about hat shot looks very GT5ish. The lighting on the car or something, I dunno.)

wow! the nose of the audi is way too meshy craziness

Indeed. Not to mention, what happened to the V10 petrol R8 Audi said they were going to produce? I think it's cool they are trying to do more with their Diesel technology, but I would much prefer the lighter/quicker/more nimble all aluminum V10 to the heavy iron V12 TDI.

Looking at those shots, I'm jealous of those living near NYC. I used to live in Manhattan (Delancey St to be exact), and attended many events at the Javits center. Sure wish I could have attended this year.

;)

You might want to rethink that!!
Audi R8 V12 TDI concept
6.0 liters
500 HP
738 lb-ft Torque
185+ MPH
0-60 4.2 sec

Not bad for a heavy iron block oil burner!! :)

I agree with you, and I think it has something to do with the fact that the car is extremely clean and polished, plus the lighting seems to be very "clinical", if you know what I mean.

No rethink needed.

Yes, it's good for a TDI powered vehicle. However, the extra weight of that ginormous Iron V12 IS going to hinder the handling. This has been something a lot of people have expressed concern with. The argument can be made that if you want a nimble R8, get the 4.2 V8 model. Yet, Audi promised us an R8 with it's own proprietary all aluminum V10 puting out OVER 500HP with a 0-60 time of UNDER 4 seconds. This on top of the lighter weight should have made quite the amazing drive.

I can only assume they are trying to capitalize on the popularity of diesel engines, and the success of it's V12 TDI Le Mans car (even though the V12 TDI in the Le Mans car is a completely different engine all together). Still, a nice car, just not quite as nice as I was hoping for. Not to mention, that thing is kicked from the front. Not a looker.

Just goes to show how far graphics have come along. Way to go PD!
