Playseat Evolution vs. Race Room

Hi there racers!

I am still trying to choose a manufactured cockpit. I have been leaning toward the Playseat Evolution ($340 cdn), but now see the Playseat RaceRoom which goes for $494 cdn.

Does anyone know what the differences between the two are?

A fake leather seat vs. a real leather seat?

Can not figure out why the difference in price; more paint on the RaceRoom and extra colour fabric/embroidery perhaps?

I have got a question into playseats Canadian distributor, but who knows when, and if, they will respond.

From my quick research the RaceRoom just features a more padded, better constructed seat.

My thoughts also, but hard to tell from limited product descriptions and a few photos on a website.

I also received a response from a distributor in Canada:

"The basic difference between the Evolution and the Raceroom is the fact the Raceroom is a special edition with Black Frame and RaceRoom Logo embroidered on the seat.

So basically the difference in price is due to the detail in the seat.

The RaceRoom seat has an MSRP of $499.99 USD, fortunately we have managed to keep it down from that a bit.

From the videos I have seen the playseat evo/raceroom the platform is firm enough (wobbles only a little) and the post does not get in the way of driver's feet on the pedals; and a reasonable price (not sure if I will spend the extra for the RaceRoom when I could buy a racing seat and replace the evolution one for the same price).

I clicked purchase and chose the Evolution, should get it a week from today; then take a day off work to race?
