Hey i played gt3 a lot when i first got a ps2 and recently went back with my ps3. Now my question is will gt4 run ok on my ps3? on the list on sony's site it says it will run with obvious problems but it say gt3 will run with minor problems now i never noticed any when i played that so just wondering if anyone had any trouble?

It depends which PS3 you're using, really. There's differences between the 20, 40, 60 and 80Gb models.

On a 60Gb PAL PS3, kept up to date with firmware updates, I have no trouble with GT4.

The only thing I've experienced of troubles with GT4 on my PS3 (60 Gig PAL) is lag on the intro movie, and had trouble to load back to GT mode if you have downloaded a savegame from the net else than that it works (with any version i've tried)

i think the new ones, the 40 and 80, they can't play ps1 or ps2 games, according to my friend who went to buy one last thanksgiving

The new 40GB and 80GB PS3's are different. The 40GB has no Backwards compatability but the 80GB has software to support BC, an update may just need to be installed.

a friend has a PS3 and now cant play GT4 or GT3 whatsoever, he has to either play it on the PS2 or not at all! Tough break i say.

Which version of the PS3 does he have? I'd be guessing at a 40Gb one, since all the others have some PS2 compatibility...

I have the 80g PS3 and when I play GT4 the screen will get choppy and sometimes shake. This doesn't happen with the PS3 games, so it's not console.

Thats a normal problem for the game. I hate it when it happens.

I've got a 60GB NTSC(though the NTSC and PAL Ps3's are to my knowledge identical) with the latest fw update, and as of yet I have experienced 0 problems with any of my Ps2 games. GT4 runs great on it.

Thats a normal problem for the game. I hate it when it happens.

Odd... I always thought it was the PS2 choking to death. (300mhz processor+too many polygons=death)
