Hi all
I have Playstation Vita I've owned for a couple of days but have had nothing but trouble getting it to sign into the Playstation Network. The internet works fine on it - it's just the sign-in that won't work. Every other device in the house - PC, Xbox 360, PS3, phone all work correctly. Just this darned device.
Network error NW-2465-7.
I know it must be something to do with my router or the setup of the device itself. I use my phone as a WiFi hotspot, connect the Vita to it, and it signs in every single time without problems. So I didn't think much of the issue until now - it appears my provider has blocked my sign in so I'm forced to go back to my home wireless again (unless it's just temporary)...
There are threads on this - but not many with a certain response:

In there, the guy bought a new router and Sony asked to replace for Vita for him. Ridiculous. Not an option. I KNOW it can work - whenever I restart my router it lets me sign into the Playstation network 1st time - but after that (because some games disable network during gameplay for whatever reason) when I go to sign in again, it fails. Happens over and over - 1st time after a router restart it works. After that, failure.

A mention here someone from Sony mentions that there is too much traffic. Really?? It signs in fine from my phone?
Also, there is a mention of a solution of changing the DNS settings. I have put those settings in manually into my Vita AND router, and it has made no difference. I have also tried Google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 servers - same result.
Any ideas on what's going on? I could ring Sony, but from the looks of it they're not helpful. I can only think it's my router, or it's something Sony needs to fix (and whether it does is another question...).
Thanks in advance!
P.S My brother's Vita does the same thing using the same router.
Edit: Seems this thread is getting guest attraction! Error is first result in Google, so doesn't seem I'm the only one suffering!
