Please Help - Lost Nissan 370Z (GT Academy) After Corrupted Save

Hi there,

I loaded up GT5 today to find the Nissan 370Z (GT Academy) car in the 'Gifts' section, so I retrieved it and got it from the 'Car Delivery' section, it added to my car list successfully.

Next I loaded up the GT Academy - Round 3 Seasonal Event with my SKYLINE GT-R V・spec II (GT Academy) and got gold, then when I exited from the race summary screen my PS3 crashed on the 'Saving...' part. I had to turn off my PS3 and load GT5 again.

Just after the GT5 logo part where it says 'Loading...' a pop-up said that no save data had been found, but there was a backup available, so I selected that and then I went into my car list and found that my Nissan 370Z (GT Academy) was missing. Its not in my Items, not in Car Delivery and not in the Gifts section.

I am really disappointed that a car I had earned from the GT Academy event is now gone and I won't be able to complete next weeks GT Academy - Round 4 Seasonal Event.

Is there anything you guys/girls would recommend I do? Can I contact PD/Sony about it or not? Please help.

Try google. I haven't seen this problem before but there are a few. Wouldn't be polyphony without problems.

The only solution I can think of is to dupe it (I assume that's still possible) - of course, that requires having the car in the first place.

Thanks for the info. I guess I will just have to borrow the car then, thanks to GTP_CargoRat I have never borrowed a car on GT5 before, so how does it work with regards to tuning and upgrades? Is it possible? Does it affect the owner's car in any way? Thanks

AJX - I did something similar and lost the GT Academy 370Z too.

I wish the cars were handled differently. For eligible people they should be available in the car dealership, that way if you lost the car you could simply buy it again. The way it is at the moment it pretty silly tbh.

How weird, I had corrupted data yesterday! Didn't lose anything, but had to use usb to get it back.

I had a very up-to-date backup save as well, so I didn't lose anything other than the GT Academy 370Z, which you cannot get back

Aww I'm pretty sure you can trade with someone no? That's how I got mine. Yea it has something to do with gt acdemy.

Agreed! The first thing I did was check the dealership. I haven't done the latest seasonal yet since I'm simply too aggravated to even look at GT5 at the moment.

I can understand that the dealership might require a game-level patch but it seems like they could have offered them through some sort of re-downloadable DLC or something better than the way their currently handled.

Just adding my voice on this issue: it happened to me as well. Received the 370Z Tuned this past week, went straight to play some of the Seasonal Events and while waiting for the game saving, it got stuck. Unlike other gifts from friends which you can get again if you load a backup file prior to having received them the first time, this one from PD Gran Turismo seems to have a different setting that does not allow you to claim it again.

Wrote to Sony asking them to forward message to PD. I don't know how to write directly to PD's customer service. Anyone knows? I'm hoping if enough people write they might get a better idea of the magnitude (number) of those affected to make an educated decision on how much time to dedicate to fixing it....or not!
