Reasons I said use balsa wood as it is easy to work with... Cost very little and you be able to get most of the detail back into the pillar with just sand paper and a knife.
I would cut the pillars off and don't throw them away .. I would then carve the details and curve into the strip of balsa, reattach the prime it to get rid of the wood texture or use a skim of filler. Then paint it ...
Lets be honest the shell is quite warped and obviously came close to some heat .. You have a few other options..
1. Buy a 2nd kit use your broken one to make a civic rear end trailer and make a tow hook on you new kit ..
2. Scratch build a open top civic race concept (lot of work)
3. Make a beater, scrap or rat car out of it , least you have something you could put on display.
Well least you have options
Post a few more pics at different angles as that she'll looks really warped you must remember everything is connect to that shell and if that ain't right you are going to have a crap load of fitting problems
